You see all the people in this thread that have the cat with glasses avatar? Well, they're PS3 "fans."

Now, look at their opinions and see how they all lean.

Alright, done? Well, they are the small minority of PS3 "fans" on this site. There are a thousand others who would love nothing more than to take shots at the 360's biggest game(Most of the other posters in this very thread are PS3 fans in disguise, btw, this type of thread attracts them).

Now, you aren't known to be a 360 entheusiast(which would have given you a fair motive to create a topic like this), but neither are you known to be a "fan" of any particular console.

Stating your opinion is obviously fine.

However, making topics giving the vast majority of "fans" a chance to rip on a game that they obviously have never even played, just because the game is on 360, isn't cool.

You should be more prudent in the future, with what you decide what to post about. At one time, I too felt Gears was over-rated. I changed my mind after I actually played the game fully. Its quality is not readily apparent until near halfway through.

That said, I don't go around making threads about how Uncharted, Resistance, or ToD suck, and are over-rated. If I did, I would be in the wrong. I can freely give my comments on those games when appropriate, but it is NOT appropriate to create a topic with the sole purpose of flaming a game becuase you were bored and couldn't think of anything better to write about.

A. You're not gonna get many unbiased opinions.

B. It's flamebait.

C. Nothing good will come of it, and you'll just end up not wanting to post in your own thread.

Now, you surely aren't the first, nor will you be the last person to make this mistake.

Just realize that it was a misstep and move on. Don't blame others for what you could have easily predicted was going to happen.

im a hardcore nintendo fanboy and i really hate the 360 and all of it's overrated games, but I have to say, Gears of War was the only game that I actually liked on the 360. i thought it was great.

I thought I would hate it - until i actually played for more than 5 mins and then I just loved it a lot. Its not without flaws but the great thing is that those flaws are easy to fix and look like they have been identified and will be fixed in the next version.

you sir are foolish! gears has great controls a great story line great voice work and probably some of the best online you can find!

I think the only thing wrong with your post, is the lack of an "IMO", as well with that, your post would have some validity.

Stating your opinion as fact, in a pejorative way, is commonly referred to as posting "flame bait" rather than trolling, and to that end, I'd say you were guilty, but I'd also guess you already knew that.

For what it's worth, I think the single player campaign was excellent alone (if short) and absolutely stellar co-op. Beyond that the multi-player is a superior experience to that in every way. I don't think you honestly wanted to hear dissenting opinions though, rather you were probably looking for some solidarity. Hope you found some in other posts!

This is correct.

It's overrated because it's over hyped, like God of War, like Halo, like Final Fantasy, like Zelda (yeah I said it, TP doesn't live up to the series if it's just OoT in 2006 graphics) and like MGS (MGS4 was overhyped, thus making it overrated, it was a great game, but the expectations were raised to high).

It is a great game though, the controls are probably the tightest I've seen in a 3rd person Shooter, it was really a bad action movie, which is charming if you don't take the story too seriously.

As for voice acting, I think it was fine, you had to believe that these 4 bulky blocks of humanity had to be able to take on this race of oversized monsters, if they sounded normal, you wouldn't buy the idea of 4 taking on thousands.

I think somebody should become a mod after that post, best advice I've seen in these forums for some time.

Its not overrated for me.....but thats IMO. I agree with the voice acting being awful, and I cant say I remember the controls being that bad when I started playing. The weapon selection is about as good as any FPS/TPS game out there. Campaign, especially in co op is amazing. I agree about the AI as well and all the characters are stereotypes.

I have to admit a game that I can regularly paly for 2 years is pretty amazing. What type of games do you like.

You are all saying a LOT (flaming is so cool... ), and because each one has a different opinion, this thread will not end (well).

In my opinion, Gears of War isn't that good, I didn't play for more than 4 hours.
