All alpha and beta frontends are built on the previous version!  That said the feature set, multi-touch, etc., should be Vista SP2.

Aww, I liked the old wordpad - it was old school enough to remind me when I didn't hate every piece of software MS released.

I don't know how much difference you guys were expecting, MS made huge changes from XP to Vista and it backfired, now they're (over)reacting and making only slight upgrades. My guess it will backfire :P

Notepad is my most used program on my computer. They better not mess that one up!

I like how people see some pictures of the UI and say that nothing changes. Weren't most of the problems with Vista unrelated to the UI? Thus, fixing those things would not affect the UI. Also the site that those pictures are from state that they toned back UAC quite a bit.
