Inspired by RCTjunkie's thread.

This is not a place to debate creation vs evolution, or any of that stuff, its just a question for believers to answer seriously.

Even though there is no evidence that a god exists, why do you believe that God exists?

Also which God do you believe in?

Just an explanation why.

I believe that God exists because my daughter is an angel.

Because it's good to have something to believe in. And when you pray for something to happen, and it happens exactly as you prayed for it, how else can you explain that?

Well since there is no proof he is not there,

I feel that there has to be some underling order maker to the world and all the elements of the universe

Keep in mind no matter how random an item might be there is always a system or a tangible reason for it to operate along that line

It is this lack of true chaos that makes me believe there is an entity keeping things in order and stable

However I feel may people have taken what is there and twisted it to fit many a perverse need, and this is not limited to the minor or “cult” religions for what really is a cult, a body of people worshiping an ideal or item the way they deem fit *cough Catholics, Muslims, pagans*

Religion is or should be an instrument to find inner peace, which would lead to the nirvana/god, however you want to call it.

I'm a catholic. Jesus says, be my brother, help the one next to you, this is the way to god.

Sounds simple enough for me. Now, I don't have any scientific proof for the nirvana or god, but debating about his existance is a dead end. No one, except for yourself, can tell you what to believe in.

^agreed and since there will never be a way for another man to prove or disprove the "god" you have to just take it on faith until you have your moment of , "oh hello there you are god"

I do think the burden of proof has been set higher then that of disproof, its easy to loose your step on the foot path of faith and just give up, but its much harder to climb up on that path out of nothing and except that this easier path has been here the whole time and you could have just taken it.

I think C. S. Lewis shows it best at the end of his series, when the world is ending there will always be people that refuse to accept him despite the evidence presented

you`re wrong with the statement:" there is no evidence that a god exists" just take a walk outside and u will see this cant just happen through some big bang seriously think about it

N64 is the ONLY console of the fifth generation!

bet with *no one yet* that the combined first week of Monster Hunter 3 in america and europe will be 600k or more! winner changes looser sig and avatar for two months!

Well I questioned the existance of God many times, and I mostly have hope rather then faith tbh. But I like to bealive that there is one. As somebody mentioned it, it gives me some sort of inner peace to bealive that there is something greater then we are and that something can actually help us when we need it.

Vote the Mayor for Mayor!

I don't believe God exists. I know God exists. So, I guess this thread isn't aimed at me. =)

I know God exists because I have seen evidence of his existence in my own life, as well as in physical manifestations in the world around my by way of undeniable miracles.

I personally witnessed the following:

A woman in my church had most of the vertebrae in her back fused together after a horseback riding injury, she couldn't bend her back and was always in pain. We all gathered around and prayed for her, the pain left, and she was able to touch her toes, something she hadn't done in over 20 years. X-rays confirmed that the fused vertebrae were no longer fused.

A friend of mine had torn a ligament in his hand (the one connecting to his thumb) right off the bone, and had no control over his thumb. He needed surgery to fix it, and the doctors only expected 40% total movement & control to return after the surgery. He was at a healing conference and raised his hand when they asked for people with hand issues, we heard a pop come from his hand, and he was immediately able to move it 100%. His doctor, formerly an athiest, now attends my friends church.

I was in a pretty bad car accident that damaged several ligaments in my back, and required physical therapy. My Doctor even debated surgery, but then deemed it not necessary. I was in serious daily pain and on pain medication/muscle relaxers right up until the day I got prayer from the congregation at my church. Since that moment, my back pain left, I went off all medication, received no more physical therapy, and my doctor said the injury was completely gone. In addition to this, a genetic curvature of my spine that concerned my doctor went away as well.

Heard from reputable sources (personal friends):

On recent mission trips to Africa & Honduras, a good friend of mine saw the following, corroborated by several witnesses:

AT LEAST 5 deaf people regained their hearing. 2 Blind people regained sight. A girl with severe autism completely healed an socially normal after prayer. A young man healed of cataracts, they watched the cloudiness disappear from both eyes. 2 Women healed of hernias.

In Uganda, one of the former leaders of a rebel group responsible for killing multiple thousands of people (The LRA) was recently saved. He left the group and now travels preaching the love and peace of Jesus. Several friends of mine were there to see him speak to a group of villagers whom he was responsible for many deaths of family members. He expressed his deep sorrow and shared his testimony.

These are just a few things I've seen or heard recently. Just because you haven't seen the evidence of God's power does not mean it doesn't exist. I have personally witnessed many undeniable examples of the power of God being displayed in the physical world. I am not engaging in blind faith, but in an active, living relationship with a loving God that I don't believe exists, I KNOW He exists.
