Forums - Sales - X360 price drop $100 bucks off every sku!

I don't think this has hit the forum yet but check the link they're saying it'll happen August 1st, right when Sony launches their $599 sku only. I'm sure they'll now be forced to make the new sku remain at a 499.99 price. Very interesting all this news.

PS: I should add that this is still a rumor, and M$ has yet to confirm it. I'm sorry if my title is misleading.

That woud kinda cancel out PS3's drop, itll be interestinng to see it play out.

Nintendo will counter this by raising the price of the Wii, causing mayhem and sellouts everywhere. You heard it here first.

If this is turns out to be true, specially with the inclusion of a memory card with the Core, this is a very smart move.

It may even mean the Wii won't beat the Xbox worldwide until after Halo comes out, which is huge, as it should by at least a month.

Reality has a Nintendo bias.

I can see the potential here and what they'll try and accomplish with the 360 this holiday season. I'm sure you're going to find Core systems bundled with Viva Pinata for 250 and advertised to kids, and you'll also see a core bundle for 250 with Scene It? advertised to adults, to try and expand their userbase demographic. I have to say it's crazy to think they'll have a model cheaper then the Wii. I wonder what that'll do for them. Although I think most gamers will want a harddrive, but at these prices and with game like Halo 3 coming it's hard to pass up on the 360, it's more or less like a why the heck not get it price.

It would be nice, then I might get on and be able to play GTAIV. Although, my gut feeling tells me that this is just wishful thinking.

Seems like BS, if they were gonna do it then they should have done it at E3. If they DO do it and include a memory card with the core, that would suddenly make the core not suck so much though...

PS: If there is a price drop I expect it to be $50, not $100 like Sony's.   They don't seem to feel that Sony is much of a threat.

The only reason for them to do this after E3, is if they suddenly see Sony as a threat (after looking at sales and such).

why is a Canadian retailer quoting US prices ???

E3 would have been a better platform to announce this.

Heeeeyyyy!!!! <Snap>

They could still do it at E3 they could be waiting to end the show with the news and could have waited to feel the market reaction out about Sony's drop, remember they had to go first, so they could have decided to hold off till after sony, plus who'd buy the system from now till August 1st if they did anounce.. But the 100 bucks off every model part is strange, I think the elite wouldn't do a straight 100 bucks. But I keep thinking geting the core to sell with a casual market game for this holiday season at the same price as the Wii would be huge for MS. Yet when watching their conference, that really didn't seem to be their strategy. They kept keying in on Madden/Halo/GTA strategy.
