Why is there no love for this game? NO ONE here is talking about it. Everyone's attention seems to be placed on LBP, Gears2, Resistance2 and Fable.

I think this game is more than just a gimmicky horror game. It mixes aspects of RE4, Metroid:prime and Event Horizon (movie), and so far it look like it's doing a great job. It's also not just a mindless shooter, there are lots of strategy involved here (for example, severing limbs to kill a monster).

And the best part of this game is that when the main character dies, it happens in very brutal and graphic ways. I've seen a monster bite his head off slowly, then rip his body in half.

What do you guys think about Dead Space?

@ darth, EA should be getting a much better reputation. BP has been awesome, ME looks awesome, BC was good, Spore was great, they have a really good line-up coming up, and while there are still some issues with their love of nicking money, DLC and DRM, they are a pretty good company.

Anyway, my excuse is that I hate horror games, though I watched a GT TV feature about it, and I must say it does look pretty awesome and the tactical dismemberment idea is pretty good

Dead Space is probably going to be the best thing we'll get before RE5, so my hopes for this game are huge (almost over 9000)!!!

I just love the way you have to kill the aliens (or rather, old friends!) and the UI. It looks fresh, it's definitely something we've never seen before.

I'm sorry, it looks like a standard corridor shooter to me.

For my taste the vids show too many enemy encounters, with too easy fights *bang bang, dead, next one* - that's not horror.

Btw the last similar game I played (Doom 3) left a very bad aftertaste in my mouth with it's atrocious level design which constantly had enemies spawn behind you.

I don't have the console 4 it, but the trailers / videos / whatevers are directed by james wan the guy that wrote and directed SAW.

Another talented aussie and those trailers do look friggin mean.

it's not getting the love because sure it's a good game but holiday season is almost here, and that game doesnt compare to the mega hits that'll be out soon

I am excited for this game. It is one of the must-have titles for me this autumn. I am purchasing this, Resistance 2 and Gears 2.
