Forums - Gaming - Sad Nintendo Wii Owner :( Should I trade it in ? Help me make up my mind...

Do what you want to do, it sounds like you've already been thinking about this a lot so you've already made up your mind?

Anyway if you're going the fleabay route you might want to consider picking up a backwards compatible used 20/60/80gb PS3 instead. That way you can use it to play your PS2 games and trust me, they do actually look nicer on my 60gb than they ever did on my PS2 and I swear they even play smoother too. Since the HDD is upgradable even the 20gb version would be pretty good if you can manage without Wifi/don't have a handy wireless bridge.

Otherwise check out the Xbox 360 - if you're a longtime Nintendo fan you should know who Rare are and you can pick up an Arcade for $200 so you're not paying out any extra versus the Wii and you should be able to play 90% of the games available for the PS3 with the different exclusives making up the difference.

Tease.

your on the right path....

MGS4 is an awesome game....if you like Uncharted you will like Rathcet & clank as well.

And LittleBigPlanet just looks amazing.

good choice!

All hail the KING, Andrespetmonkey

Sell the Wii, buy a PS3 and Change your account name to PlaystationFananza, then you'll not be sad anymore

Well I don't like Metroid Prime, never liked it on the gamecube. I was really hoping for a good Mario Kart, but it didn't come out. Alot of those games, I probably won't like. I will probably rent Zak and Wiki before I send it off though.

I don't mind not having backwards compatibility, I already have a PS2. I just read on the internet you can connect your Playstation 3 to a monitor with a special cable, is that true?

As for the Xbox 360, no thanks. I have to use Wifi, the computer upstairs is connected to a router. Also, I really want Metal Gear, Ratchet (I have all the games on PS2 :)), Uncharted, and LITTLEBIGPLANET!!!!!

I doubt the valicity of the OP. Regardless just collect systems. It offers more a variety of games in the long run.

Squilliam: On Vgcharts its a commonly accepted practice to twist the bounds of plausibility in order to support your argument or agenda so I think its pretty cool that this gives me the precedent to say whatever I damn well please.

I don't recommend selling it.  It's not even a 2 year old console.  I'm sure there will be games in the future that may interest you. Also, you haven't used a PS3 yet, I suggest renting a PS3 from Blockbuster(at least I can do that at my blockbuster) and seeing if you like it or not

Pixel Art can be fun.

Yea I agree, all nintendo ever do is relaese the same games over and over!

So sell your Wii and buy a Xbox360 or PS3 with GTA '4', MGS'4', HALO '3', SOUL CALIBUR '4', CALL OF DUTY '4', RIDGE RACER '7', GT '5' etc because they are the only consoles with anything original on them!

*warning: this post contains huge amounts of sarcasm.

That's cool, just thought I would throw that one out there since I hated the earlier Metroid games too.

Also, I'm not saying don't get a PS3, I'm just saying don't sell your Wii.  A game will come out later you will want to play and then you will have to spend the $250 again.  Just save your money so you can have a PS3 and a Wii.  Selling the Gamecube games, your PS2, and the Wii games you don't like (especially WiiFit and Mario Kart) will easily get you more than $150 at Gamestop and even more on eBay.

You will be much happier in the long run if you keep your Wii.  I can almost guarantee when you buy the PS3 and have played the PS3 games you want to death you'll be making the same thread about your PS3 and regretting selling your Wii.  Go with eBay or Gamestop and get a used backwards compatible PS3.

Stick to the PS2 it's the best console out.

Ask yourself what you like, the only reason to buy a console is if there are games you want on it, Motion Controls just add's possibilities but c'mon you still need games you like to use those controls.

I have my own reasons for keeping my Wii. =)

1.Monter Hunter Tri
2.Monster Hunter Tri
3.Monster Hunter Tri
4.(Something else goes here but I can't get Monster Hunter Tri out of my head.)

I'm Unamerica and you can too.

The Hunt Begins 4/20/2010 =D

What I think you don't like is the ''casualization'' of various Nintendo franchises, removing the little bit of advantage ''hardcore'' gamers had over newbies. If you look at Mario Kart Wii, it's just too easy to be in last place and get 2 Blue Shells in less than 15 seconds, and guess who was in front? The rather good player... And this got me sick of this game.

I know the feeling though, you'd think they would upgrade on what they've built, but they rather prefer to change the engine for no reason to please the ''other'' players. Another example here is Super Smash Bros. Brawl, why did they make the n00b ''B specialist'' characters soooo powerful? Why did they remove the L-cancel, a technique that has been in the Smash games since the N64? Various other gameplay elements come in mind. If the Wii isn't focused on graphics, you'd think it would focus on gameplay at least! Two years ago, the games were amazing (Twilight Princess, Wario Ware: Smooth Moves, Metroid Prime 3: Corruption, etc.), but it felt like this year's games didn't really deliver in my opinion.

I still have hope for the Wii though, so I'm keeping it until ''that'' game comes out, but if your mind is already set for the PS3, then go for it, because it might take a while!

Random game thought :
Why is Bionic Commando Rearmed 2 getting so much hate? We finally get a real game and they're not even satisfied... I'm starting to hate the gaming community so f****** much...
