More like...Namco's overall strategy is made of fail. The first "real" JRPG didn't do good. Looks like we have to wait for WKC. |
"WE"? Soriku, I didn't know you were a PS3 Owner

It's an argument 360 users use against PS3 Owners. When this is no longer Valid, 360 Owners will move onto another argument. This is what the argument's 360 Owners have used : ZOMG PS3 has no Games (Can't use this anymore, next argument ).. ZOMG PS3 Has no decent Exclusives, ZOMG PS3 only good for Blu-ray, ZOMG 360 attach rate >>>>>>PS3 attach rate (which it should be with 5million + lead). ZOMG PS3 Has No JRPGs etc etc . Any weakness PS3 May have at a certain time (Whether true or unfounded), 360 users will just use it against PS3 Owners. And thus the cycle continues. |
You do know how attach rate is calculated, right? Having a 5 million lead won't alter the value of the measurement.
edit: ah, jrpgs don't sell on the ps3.
Too much fanboyism here, and I'll tell you how. One of my favorite games this gen has been the underrated survival horror gem Siren. So far, Siren received a 78% AVERAGE rating. This AVERAGE rating will not stop me from enjoying Siren. In fact, Resident Evil (main storyline) games have scored higher than Siren, but Siren's gameplay and presentation appeal to me more than the Resident Evil series. So when I find a game I like, I'm going to buy it, and I'm going to enjoy it. Some people think 79 for ES is bad, some think it's good. WHO CARES as long as you like the game, and it's worth ya bucks. And I don't care how well or how bad a game sells because sales never dictate quality. And the actual number of units sold isn't as important as whether or not the game was worth the developer's efforts. If they made a worthy profit and think a sequel is worth the gamble, great because that mean more games to choose from. Some of you put too much "faith" in numbers to justify a hobby, and that's missing the whole point of gaming.

No idea. But it's had a year of hype on these boards.......

I somewhat doubt hype on Vgchartz forums translates into hype in the Japanese gaming market.
This site is nice and all but it's not in japanese to start with :P

Dude's just trolling to make it appear as if ES PS3 was suppose to have more sales because of alleged hype.

WTF, not every game that doesn't sell 100 billion copies in it's first week is a bomb. That word is so damned overused on this site it has lost all meaning. There are only two types of bombs:
1. Games that cost a lot of money and have a low return on investment (Lair)
2. Highly anticipated games that don't break X units (arbitrary number)
Since when is Eternal Sonata either of those? Honestly, shut up with all the talk about games bombing, you make yourself sound like an idiot.
EDIT: Not directed at anyone in particular.

Fixed. So you agree with everything else then
I expected a lot more. Who'da thunk only about 1% of PS3 owners got it day 1?
Hopefully the full week's sales numbers will be at least double that... and it'd still be half what I predicted. :-/

Eternal Sonata is a good game though....... Not great, but good.

Not really. It looked incredible and the music was really good but it really wasn't that good of a game.
It's been a while since I've played it, but these are things I remember:
So yeah, the game really isn't anything interesting enough to get excited over.
I can't for the life of me understand why people expected much out of the PS3 version of Eternal Sonata. The 360 doesn't mean much in Japan, but the people who really wanted the game already got it nonetheless.
You do not have the right to never be offended.
