Wii Music will sell better with longer legs.

Sony could give you Lair with LBP cover art and it would be better than Wii Music. You "hope" LBP will be better? You gotta be kidding me. Sony is banking on this game. The reviews to this point have been ridiculously good.

I don't think that LBP is a casual game. It is a game for everyone sure, but I don't think people that never played a game before can pick it up and enjoy it that much. So Wii Music will definitely win in the casual department. Though, LBP is obviously the better choice for the hardcore gamers.
But I don't know, I think Wii Music will end up beating LBP in the long run. But I just don't see Wii Music doing as good as Wii Fit, Wii Play, and Wii Sports. In everything I seen, I just don't see it appeal to others as the other games. For example, when I showed Wii Fit to my mom who isn't a gamer, she was interested and wanted to get one. However, Wii Music, she isn't even interested. It may just be her, but I think it won't be as successful as the others. But we will see.
LBP is not casual (or bridge).Any game that emphasizes creation and online play is not casual or bridge. It is an upmarket title.
The hype machine is at full speed.
Beware of the inevitable crash such as mgs4, lair, dmc4, gta4 or whatever title that was at some point hyped as "the next big thing that will resurrect the playstation brand".

What about the core platforming aspect? I thought 2D platformers were the lowest market tier for core games. creation and sharing being what make it a bridge to the upmarket.

Wii Music will crush LBP, but I sure would buy LBP if I had a PS3.
Wii Music looks terrible.
Wii Music is not going to move hardware. Wii Fit, it's not. It may do decently, but I wouldn't expect it to be a landmark.
A few questions:
1. Who is going to buy LBP that doesn't already want a PS3 or own a PS3?
2. What part of LBP is more casual that say Mario or Rachet and Clank?
3. How does Wii music sales affect LBP sales? Isn't that like Rock Band affecting Call of Duty sales? Except it would be Rock Band on the Xbox360 vs Call of Duty on the PS3?
Questions over,
I'm Unamerica and you can too.
