500Mhz x86 compatible, 512mb RAM, 60GB HDD. Wifi, ethernet, usb, vga out, etc. Power consumption 4-6W. Under 300$ with linux.
You know, it won't run Crysis but as a retromachine for 90's games...

Pretty cool, though I'm baffled as to what you'd use it for. I originally thought you could hook up an external DVD drive and HDD to it and use it as a silent, unobtrusive HTPC, but it doesn't have the processing power (or video card) to run modern DVD playing software, nor any sort of digital-audio-out port.
Anyone have any ideas?
"'Casual games' are something the 'Game Industry' invented to explain away the Wii success instead of actually listening or looking at what Nintendo did. There is no 'casual strategy' from Nintendo. 'Accessible strategy', yes, but ‘casual gamers’ is just the 'Game Industry''s polite way of saying what they feel: 'retarded gamers'."

I think Nikkom hit the nail on the head.

You know what, for some reason I think of the mac-book air when It comes to portability and the fact that the mac did not have any ethernet ports or multiple usb ports.
I Blame Wii Fit!

Hmm. Only thing i could think of using the thing for would be for a network attached store PC that didn't consume much power, but that'd be a hassle, as you'd just have to hook up all your HDD's via USB and just have them sitting next to the thing (and that kinda negates the power savings).
It'd certainly work well as a web browser PC, or something that would work well for kiosks. I can't think of much I'd use it for at home.
I blame Wii Music
