Forums - Gaming - Wall Street Journal article on DS in Japan

Just a microcosm of why the DS will become the best selling game system of all time.

Around the Network

I've often wondered why Nintendo has never done this before. Devices like the Leappad and Leapster are crap when compared to a GBA let alone a Nintendo DS.

I know a lot more people would be picking DSes up if they also had 'good' purposes like education as well.

Numbers are like people. Torture them enough and you can get them to say anything you want.

I can see Kaplan or any of the US prep programs doing similar things for the SAT.
I'd buy it, even tho high school is long behind me.

Lets hope it spreads over seas. Maybe we can see some of the Nintendo haters start having Wii Fit forced down their throat. HAHAHA

Post of the year.

The same could be said about your post

Especially if a couple years later you see Wii Fit machines in gyms.  Actually, could happen as soon as next year.

the Wii is an epidemic.

There's always room for wishful thinking ;)

nintendo's gotta dream big :) it's the only way they can keep ahead of everyone else.

You know, if they actually released some of those things like kanji training or other language training software for the DS in America, I will run out and buy them all.

I'm at the point where portable gaming would be interesting but not that big of a deal. Having those kinds of software would get me fired up (and of course I would buy other games since I had a DS...).

Come on Nintendo...bring em out!

I think English and Spanish language training in particular in the U.S. would be fast sellers.
