I was going to mention that u forgot Enchanted Arms but I just realized that it only launched in NA. I think that it'll do fairly good. I agree with ur prediction, SW 80k, HW 12k seems about right.

@kutasek, don't mind him, he's been in many jRPG threads and always mentions SRPGs and time and time again people tell him that those are SRPGs not jRPGs but he continues.

First time i've ever heard that SRPGs aren't canon JRPGs. Give me links to when I denied it before.

puhh-lease shadowbind.....all that is common logic here.

I actually didn't know that. I'm more annoyed that he said I have been repeatedly told this then the fact that they aren't JRPGs, since this is (to my recollection) the first time I've ever heard that strategy-based Japanese RPGs aren't JRPGs at all. I want to know when I denied this before.

GOTY Contestants this year: Dead Space 2, Dark Souls, Tales of Graces f. Everything else can suck it.

Disagea 3 had sales of 110k in Japan but for some reason the sales were taken down. Enchanted Arms was released in Japan and is currently a Best Price (Greatest hit) title.

I predict Eternal Sonata will see 50k in sales first week and 12k in HW. The game will eventually outsell the 360 version worldwide.

Your quote from the Tales of Vesperia on PS3 thread

And three...Folklore, Enchanted Arms, Disgaea 3, and next month Eternal Sonata. I think comparing the consoles is quite possible.

Later on in the thread, many people say that Disgaea 3 is an SRPG not a jRPG (and Folklore is an action adventure game and u added that as a jRPG) yet in this thread u mentioned Disgaea 3 when it's obvious this is a jRPG thread. Need more proof? cuz I saw a whole bunch of things I could have quoted in that one thread alone.

How about Valkyrie?

Both Valkyrie and Disgaea 3 bombed, and I think Disgaea is far more popular than Eternal Sonata.

valkyrie was also an SRPG....n BTW if they both bombed...then I guess so have TOV & IU & LO in Japan

All hail the KING, Andrespetmonkey

Comparing SRPGs (whether Japanese or not) to other JRPGs is like comparing Operation Flashpoint or Rainbow 6 (pre-lockdown/vegas) to Halo/Resistance/Gears of War. Yea, you shoot stuff in all those games, but one of them is a decidedly more niche series.

if you think that then i suggest you check the sales for its predecessors.

ok....well now ye know :)

I still think this will sell the best of them all because it is by far the most traditional RPG to hit the PS3, its turnbased, Story centric, anime inspired.
Folklore was an action affair, Disgaea is a niche JRPG, Valkyria Chronicles is a new franchise and a JRPG.

X Edge has some potential as well that releases one week later I believe.

Well if u didn't read other people's responses in the Tales of Vesperia for ps3 thread, then I apologize. I thought that since u posted in it, u wouldve sticked around to see people's replies to ur comments.

I don't think ES will do much for the PS3 in Japan. The big hardware pushes will come from WKC and LBP in Japan. I don't know why, but i get this feeling that the Japanese will go crazy with building levels and coming out with some out of this world level designs etc. I can imagine it becoming a big trend in Japan.

WKC and LBP FTW!!!
