Eh...then those that don't listen to reason will just rant on and on...and they'll never acknowledge people that they don't agree with...

If someone blocked replies to you directly - you never get the reply? But everyone else does? So everyone else can reply/quote this persons reply (that you don't have)?

Well, it depends how you implement it, vBulletin for example just shows that the ignored user has posted and you can choose to view the post as well.

Personally I'm pro ignore user button. I've been on some forums before where I've used it. Oh sure, you can still see that person's post if someone else quotes it. But when you see it, you know that you've put them on ignore, so you don't quite have the same urges to scream back at them.

I can't really see the downside.

I would love a german suplex button. When a user talks BS you just click it and get a message along with a animation "user 1" german suplex "user 2".
