Does someone really do that? The people who like those "mature" games? Usually that kind of stuff come from those people who like the "kiddie" games. :)
Of course there are few that do not like some games which many would consider kiddie. You use smg as an example, I can't say anything about that game... mostly because it would get me banned. But anyway, isn't it even more immature to complain about those gamers who do not like kiddie games? ;)
And by those kiddie games I mean likes of my horsez and me or whatever.

Yes there are those who really do that. If you are blind to it is for the same reason I am largely blind to the stupid things some wii fans say; its a lot easier to forgive an idiot when its an idiot who shares your views.
And I don't know whether to laugh or cry at your second paragraph. In a discussion about maturity are you really using the "I know you are but what am I?" defense?
Just to try to take a step back from this and look at it from a different perspective. A lot of my favourite tv shows are ones I would never let my son watch - they either have violence galor, or humour he isn't old enough for yet. But never in all the many hours I have spent discussing these shows online have I ever reffered to myself as a person who likes "mature tv". Neither has liking these shows ever stopped me from watching kid friendly shows with my son and genuinely enjoying many of them. On the other hand many years ago when I'd see a movie like First Blood or Terminator or anything Monty Python my friends and I would think we were being so mature watching films like that.
The people who are most vocal about declaring their maturity to the world are those who are not. This isn't something I've made up, its a simple fact of the human experience.

Well, I don't have a reason to be defensive.
I don't know which of us is blind, could be that we both are. But still I think that there are a lot more of those fanboys who like kiddiegames and complain about "hardcorez" who don't.
Do you discuss about tv-shows online at all? If not, then that example is a really bad one. :) Kid friendly and kiddie is not the same thing. Kiddie is something that is made (just) for kids. At least that is what I think.
If I say that I don't like a game because it is kiddie, it is because I don't like the visual style, simplicity of the gameplay, "humour" or in some cases, really annoying voice acting. It is not that "I am declaring my maturity". One could argue that some people are so insecure about themselves playing those kiddie games that they have to lash out on people disliking them... which would be equally stupid thing to say.
