I recently bought and played my first Pokemon game (diamond) just to experience the phenomenon, and honestly i was surprised by how addictive the game was. I will definitely buy another version of this game within a couple of years. It was childish, very cute but cunningly evil in hooking you in. So yes, now i get why this game sells like crazy.

You could try out the Yu-Gi-Oh! DS games. They're quite good actually and they really come into their own over the net with the cruel competition.
