 Yeah the 360 plays dvds but I like to keep it in the basement where the hd tv is.

I still have my launch PS2 and it works great. I had a problem 3 years ago with the DVD drive. At first it would have a hard time reading DVD's and then it wouldn't read anything. Also, the drive would "click" whenever I put a disk in the drive. I was able to realign the laser in the drive and it has worked perfectly ever since. I'm not sure if it is the same problem as yours, but it may be worth a try.
