I don't think it worth.

look at the games available....if you want them then the TV you play them on is inconsequential.

save up for a 720P tv 32" ones are really cheap now, because PS3 without hd tv is not cool

i thought 1080p was a hdtv

and its not that I don't have a HDTV, its just that its in the living room and my parents don't want me to hog the tv.

by the way its a 52" Bravia

 This is the truth. If you just want something pretty to look at rent some movies. Games are meant to be played and enjoyed. Not having it in a higher resolution will not kill the game.

If you can still play on an HDTV, then yes, just remember to change the settings when you plan on the big screen to HDMI, then change back the settings from HDMI->Components when you take it back to your room.

Also put it in the living room and rent a couple of movies on Blu Ray that your parents would like and after they see how clear the picture is it'll be easier to convince them to keep the PS3 in the living room.

you think?, i was just recomending 720P because they are cheaper and most games dont even run at 1080p

Honestly, if the resolution is all you care about then you should just buy a high end PC with a good monitor and a high en graphics card that supports higher resolutions.

It's perfectly fine to own a PS3 without an HDTV, though of course most of their selling point when advertised is the HD output and format but you really don't need it to enjoy the games. The same goes for the 360 in my opinion.

Keep in mind that doesn't mean you won't want to get one, I had wanted an hdtv since I'd gone to my friends house, I like big screen and wide screen for that movie feeling so it was simply a natural step for me. Don't feel like you have to get it right away or ever, get what you need to enjoy yourself and nothing more. If you feel you need a HDTV just chill out and wait around for a good sale.
