Yes, today, according to VGC the PSP finally got a 5 million seller: GTA: Liberty City Stories. The game is arguably the biggest exclusive ( well untill it got ported to the PS2) the system got in its life, and it was released back at the end of 05.

Since then the game is selling steadily in the US, even this week passing the 7k sales. Same is in Others, just that tracking games there is a bit more difficult. Still if you look at top PSP software sales in many countries LCS is still in the top 10, so there is no doubt that the game probably sold more in Others, just that its undertracked.

Also at this point its the best selling 3rd party handheld game of this generation and the best selling non-nintendo handheld game ever :D

Of course it's the best-selling non-nintendo handheld game, the only handheld that isn't Nintendo and holds any merit at all is the PSP :p

No way, everyone knows the PSP can't sell software! j/k. Anyone think they will ever make a San Andreas stories? It would really help sales in America and Others.

I dont think so tbh. Both GTA games took up prety much on the UMD, and a SAS would be a bit to big IMO. Also, the drop of sales form LCS and VCS isnt encouraging neither for T2 IMO :(

LCS is my favorite GTA game, it's good to hear that it broke 5 mil.

I don't understand how Rockstar decided to develop a GTA for the DS. I doubt it will sell better, and now they can't port the game to the PS2.

The ease of porting PSP stuff to the PS2 is both a blessing and a curse.

A blessing because it makes developers more likely to release PSP stuff (secondary market opportunities and all). A curse because it's likely to lower PSP software sales (why get it for the PSP, I'll wait six months and get it on PS2).

That said, GTA LCS was rather fun and deserves the good sales.

Zuhyc, maybe you did know that GTA was on GBC and GBA before it was on PSP. Yeah, and there will likely be another GTA for DS.

yeah people forget that GTA has already been on nintendos handhelds. i expect to see a wii version at some point as well
