Forums - Sony - Eternal Sonata: Information on additions to the ps3 version...

From the PlayStation.com:

Cross the Bridge Between Dreams and Reality

On his deathbed, the famous composer, Chopin, drifts between this life and the next. In his final hours, he experiences a fantastical dream where he encounters a young girl facing a terrible destiny and the boy who will fight to save her. On the border between dreams and reality, Chopin discovers the light that shines in all of us in this enduring tale of good and evil, love and betrayal. Developed by Tri-Crescendo and featuring the music of Chopin, Eternal Sonata for the PLAYSTATION®3 delivers amazingly detailed 3D graphics, a captivating storyline, an innovative action battle system as well as new playable characters, quests, music and more.

Key Features

* New PS3 Quests, Battles and Events: Experience new quests, battles and events that will shed new light to the dramatic and evolving storyline compared to the previous version.
* New Playable Characters and Costume Changes for the PS3: Now players can play as Crescendo or Serenade and change some of your favorite character’s costume to your liking.
* Exclusive New Music for the PS3: Listen to newly added Chopin music – a key element in the environment and story.
* Multiple Endings for the PS3: Choose your characters wisely to see where the journey takes you.
* Custom-Made for Next-Gen: Enjoy amazing, high-definition, anime style cel-shading and high quality textures to truly deliver an awesome next gen experience.
* Innovative Battle System: Battle using a unique, hybrid turn-based/action RPG system that combines free-roam and turn-based action (up to three players during battle).
* Strategic Use of Light and Darkness: Adjust your battle strategy in the ongoing struggle between light and darkness. Beware of enemies lurking in the shadows, as their stats – attacks and potency – will change, as will their physical form. Lure them out into the light or destroy them within the cloak of darkness. Change your special attacks depending on whether you are in the light or in the dark.
* Dramatic and Evolving Storyline: Experience a deeply moving story focusing on the enduring struggle between good and evil all taking place in a dream during the final 3 hours of world-famous music composer Frederic Chopin’s life.

And from a post made today on NeoGAF:

For anyone that's interested, here's some very minor stats on how much additional storyline script has been added for a handful of characters (ie. not including additional battle grunts and what not).

Polka - 1.5x original script
Allegretto - 1.7x original script
Chopin - 1.7x original script
Serenade - 2.0x original script
Waltz - 2.2x original script
March - 2.3x original script

Don't know how much of a difference that'll make in the story itself but thought some people might be interested.

Touching is good.  Touch Me

I am really liking how the game is coming along. I was a bit split on how this game would turn out but now I am convinced. One question though. Will the game support Trophies? I mean, it did delay a full year release. The 360 version has achievements so the code cannot be that different to give the PS3 version Trophies. it is only fair we get the basic features as the 360 got, as well as some additional ones for having to wait so long for it. If so, I will be very happy and the game will be a day one release for me.

If not I am afraid it may drop back down too I'll buy it when I get around to it.

Very, very nice. Im glad I held out for this. Eternal Sonata is still $40 at most places.

They have basically fixed all the bad things about the 360 version, including the fast and rough ending.

Good question, personally I wouldn't expect it if I was you....we'll know in a couple of days with Japan's release....

I'm curious about the trophies.

Also, looking at how much they extended the scripts... That's kind ridiculous, isn't it? Some characters' scripts are more than twice the size as before. I hope it's not all fluff and padding, that would just be incredibly boring.
