Forums - Sales - Will a Euro price cut help MS turn the tide?

sorry but it's like gamecube in europe ...

price : ps3 >>>>>Wii >>>psp >ds> >360 > ps2
sale : wii >>ps3 >>>>>>360

if price/games can't save it . nothing can

sale wii>>>ps3>360 this better representatin right now

after price cut

360 will at least sell as high as ps3

with NA above PS3
and Japan trends are 360 > ps3 too

I'm taking turn the tide to mean can this help 360 actually outsell PS3 and make inroads on Wii customer base.

I suspect it won't although it does remain an outside possibility.

Will it help stem the tide somewhat, slowing rate of PS3 marketshare growth particularly - it stands a good chance of that although a lot will depend on reactions to new games on each platform over the next two months.

Given this is the second price cut in Europe in a year its pretty obvious that at least in this territory there is more than a hint of desperation to not get left behind in the move. These latest cuts I'm sure are reducing profits for MS as I believe they very likely outstrip any matching cost reductions, and there is a small chance that while they stimulate sales ij they reduce the 'image' of the console as the high end HD console vs the PS3 for those to whom price isn't a deciding factor.

Still, I think given trends in Others/Europe this year MS had no choice. To leave things as they stood would be to effectively accept a fairly distant third in this marketplace (even allowing for YOY growth for 360 the PS3/Wii YOY was really starting to bite the console's marketshare in the region).

Try to be reasonable... its easier than you think...

360 is flying high

the price cuts should see a spike in EU for xbox 360.

but at the end of the day anyone who wants a ps3 will buy one and anyone who wants a 360 will buy one, but the price cuts may help 360 at xmas time as it will be ideal gift for kids.

...not much time to post anymore, used to be awesome on here really good fond memories from VGchartz...

PSN: Skeeuk - XBL: SkeeUK - PC: Skeeuk

really miss the VGCHARTZ of 2008 - 2013...

It will help the sales of course, but outselling ps3 every week dont know about that.

The only thing MS needs to do is keep holding Sony behind them for a year maybe 2 and they will end 2nd. Thats what I think they are aiming for.

Nothing can help it in Europe now....the PS3 has just picked up too much momentum. Microsoft arent doing badly, they should concentrate on the market they have the PS3 beaten in, America

I hope my 360 doesn't RRoD

In any case PS3 will smash 360 in fall.

They don´t have to sell  more then Sony in Europe they just need to stay close to their sales to ensure that Sony ends up last.
