It's Sony's own damned fault that their userbase is so small and devs don't care what percentage of console owners buy a game, they just want overall sales. They're in this for the money, not the prestige of making a game that sells to 50% of a 2 million userbase when 10% of a 15 million userbase would net them 50% more in earnings.

 I agree. Not really about the outsell part, but I definitely think alot of people who dont play this game underestimate it. I know I did years ago. Coming from a PC FPS background (all the way back to Doom), I always thought of Halo as a very mediocre shooter.

It has a good story and all, but I never thought it was anything revolutionary. However at work I discovered that there was a Halo Clan amongst my peers and managers. I ended up getting a 360 and inevitably joined them online (had a blast too).

I still think its not -that- great of a shooter, and I hate using a control pad, but Halo introduced many *console* owners to their first online fragfest experience. Alot of these gamers didnt care for Quake, or UT on a PC. One of the charms of Xbox Live is  the ease in getting a group together or to just join a game in progress.

Some of the managers from my job are getting a 360...just to play this game. 

I think there will be another "Price Cut". Something late Oktober, early November.

But hey just cut the 80 gb to 469 - 499 and the 60 gb is discontinued by then. The 80 GB is most likely produced much cheaper then the 60 GB.

 The next cut will probably come early 2008 just intime for MGS FF GT5 Killzone.  They dont need another 100 cut for Xmas, it will sale similar at 400 or 500.

Sony can't seem to catch a break. They issue a price cut and think they have got people pleased and then Capcom starts spreading rumors. I'll bite though. I will wait now for price cut number 2. By then there should be a good library of games.

$400 is a huge difference from $500, it terms of the money AND public perception. And $400 has already been proven to be a sustainable price by MS. $500 will not help them catch up to MS still.

Yes it will but Halo don't have the impact that other game have since it was only release on Xbox console (and PC later ...). Xbox user base was pretty low.

Halo is already under CoD4, Gears of War, Killzone2/UT3
And for multiplayer, just go play UT3/CoD4 or Warhawk and it is ok

Okay... Halo was only played by Xbox users, that much is true. But the game is still wildly popular, the most popular game on the platform. It will move consoles no matter how much some of you state otherwise. It will also sell like gang-busters. Hell, Gears has done well over 4m and it's a new franchise with a userbase around 8.5m when it launched.

And I'm sick of hearing about Halo's graphics. Everyone should just take a minute and go look at the new screenshots. Then go look at some shots of Gears. If you still think Gears is substantially better, you're blind. They're very close but I prefer the cleaner textures and richer colors of Halo to the muddy blacks and greys of Gears. The same applies to Killzone, but at least that game has time to improve its textures and look. UT3 is probably a tad better but much of that depends on your personal preference of art style. The only game that I will concede looks noticably better than Halo is CoD4. That game looks amazing with the wind effects, foliage, character models, textures, everything.

Go play UT or Warhawk for multiplayer? Yeah, people are going to flock in massive numbers to a PC-dominated FPS and a completely new IP over the most popular online console game in history.

And no one has ANY idea what percentage of people who are going to buy Halo already own a 360. Stop using that horseshit argument and use something quantifiable to back up your points.

OH I dont compare games myself.
But from what I have heard on website, even on Gamespot, graphism are good but they weren't able to compare it to UT3/Gears of war/COD4.

Gears of War generate a lot of sales BECAUSE he was a stunning news game with AMAZING graphism.
In term of gameplay, it was not incredible. But the graphism make the game extremely immersive.

Whatever, What I think of Halo3 doesn't mean that microsoft dont possess others games that are systems sellers.

FPS : Bioshock

RPG : Mass Effect

GTA4 : exclusive content 

And there are others ...

The big news to me here is they know RE4 is going to blow past their initial hopes. Excellent news for the WII. To hell with them for mentioning another price cut for this year (which I dont see happening this year at ALL). Now how many people will hold off for this so called price cut? Thats the last thing Sony needs, is someone castrating the new flow of hardware sales this pricecut generated.
