This is indeed true. Sony will advertise the heck out of the new screen and the built-in mic.
I will upgrade once the Core version comes out.

Initially I wasn't going to upgrade because I heard that battery life would be shorter on the new model. However from the latest I've heard it seems that battery life will be the same so I will definitely be trading in for the new model.

its japan, even with a new color, sales tend to increase, thats also for the DS.

but DS is reaching saturation in japan the psp its just half the way the DS is.

I've noticed that most of your posts are Anti-Sony. You shouldn't feel proud of yourself for this... Take into account I prefer DS over  PSP.

People have to understand that MHP2G wasnt the only reason why PSP sales where so high. The redesign/pricedrop and the steady flow of high-quality/niche games was a huge reason why the PSP picked up in sales in Japan so well. Also the fact that the DS had so good sales that the market got oversaturated is also a reason...

Hardware releases will bump up a system in sales but will never sustain it for very long. Games are what sales a system and this is what Monster Hunter and Phantasy Star Portable did. With out those games the PSP would have had a bump in sales but not as large and not as long lasting.

But, We are only speculating. We all have to wait and see what the market says.

So this is the new defense mechanism of the Sony ilk? A person says something negative about a Sony product and you think by claiming that person hates Sony products anyway so their opinion shouldn't count no matter how true or accurate it is?

Also, DS market saturation is a myth, at least in the principle it's trying to be applied here in argument. If this ideal of DS market saturation was true then we would have seen a gradual progression of the PSP supplanting the DS as a progressive long term process not a sudden, "oh 'X' number of DSs has been sold, now that we've all patiently waited for everyone else to get a DS we can finally now go get a PSP." A slow year for the DS and games combined with a second wind for the PSP is the result of what we have seen, not this alleged scenario of the DS meeting a magic number that switched the Japanese into PSP mode.

We've seen this turn around for the DS prompted by Dragon Quest V and soon to come...

oh and by all means que the retalitory PSP games list. The only real amunition you have is Monster Hunter and the next one isn't even announced yet. The abundant Square-Enix support is nice, but their games have never really had the power or momentum that is needed to sustain the PSP, no matter how pretty they look. Don't get me wrong, they will help the PSP greatly, but they will not be enough.

PSP-3000......... I still prefer DS
