Resistance was better than Halo 3 eh? Halo 3's storyline may have been a let down but the multiplayer is still going strong. There are more levels coming soon. People want to complain about the game and yet they are glued to it like crack addicts when they go on Xbox Live. Mark my words Resistance 2 will take a back seat to KZ2.

Just because alot of people play it online does not make it good. I agree %100 that Resistance was better than Halo 3...eventhough I did not even like Resistance much. Halo was just full of dissapointments. This, my friend, is not one of the crack addicts you were talking about lol.

Really??? You do realize how that comment sounds right?

The game has been out for almost a year, its had to compete against a slew of FPS from The Orange Box to Unreal 3 to CoD 4 and its hit #1 or #2 every week on Live.

7 million people play Wii Fit. 14 million play Wiiplay. 28 Million play WiiSports. Halo 3 is easily of the most dissapointing purchase I have made for my 360. Every FPS you named on that list is better than it, but like you mentioned, it is still #1 or 2 every week on live. Again; just because alot of people play a game does not make the game good.

i had gears of war 1, i initially though it to be a masterpiece, but once i got to the kryll bat things it all slowed down from there, near the end i just quickly wanted to finish it and trade it in.

single play was ok but with splendid grafix, although the levels were all close and small sections it was still ok.

i tried online with the trail card, and didnt go back to it again.

i feel gears 2 will be more of the same, all they have done is tried to improve on the orig which im sure they will do, but its insomniacs game thats the day 1 purchase for me, it clearly has better online features and i cant wait to try out single player.

insomniac have tooken from the cod4 model in where online when you kill someone you register a +10 and anyone who has played cod4 will know how cool that score feature is when it comes up on screen.

in resistance 2, when you are gunning someone down, the score goes up like a timer, and its possible for someone to pinch your score tally if they get the kill instead.

either way resistance 2 is the shooter im looking forward to most this year, i will also have socom by then, then its roll on killzone 2

OT them type of videos dont really work well, as gears and resistance are kind of different games.

So let me get this straight

The game is still played by a million people a year after its release, it has a AAA rating from metacritic, its consistently used as the measure stick for all other FPS's but since you don't like it the game its no good?? <-- read that out loud and see how stupid it sounds.

And if Halo 3 isn't any good, why do PS3 fanboys keep calling every upcoming Sony FPS "Halo Killer"??

The funny thing is that I actually prefer CoD4 over Halo 3, and Gears over both. I'm not one of those addicts either but theres a reason why they exists. And your attempt to compare those hardcore players to the casual crowd is stupid not too mention that all three come with hardware.

-Resistance looks too much like a cookie cutter shooter. Gears lived up to its creators name. For some odd reason the Resistance games have always struck me as just average even after playing the first and looking at the build of the second game. It was Epic just watching all of that mayhem and glory in Gears (Straight out of a Sci-Fi movie). I've gotten bored with the same old stuff and I like moving onto something new. It's like how I moved on from Quake to Unreal.

-The locusts look far better than those things you call aliens in Resistance 2. First of all if you're going to have Aliens, aren't they supposed to be more intelligent? They are like Zombies on crack in those videos. Even the lower ranked ones.

-You can relate better to the protagonist in Gears.

-In Resistance you can clearly see that they stole the revolver from Gears 1. That Hammer of Dawn in the multiplayer was f'n beautiful. I cannot wait to clash with people in that game.

You can't really compare a FPS with a TPS.

KZ2 will own Resistance (In the FPS war this year), even though I doubt they compare at all to the shooters on the 360.

I am totally agree

 same here

ooo!! Thats got to hurt PS3 fanboys...lol I actually prefer Cod4 as well over Halo 3. I Gears of war is awesome as well, but I never played the first resistance online, so I would not know what its like. Why do people always Talk so badly about Halo 3, when its not even a bad game. I must agree that there was not a big jump from Halo 2 to 3, but since Halo 2 was already a great game, there wasnt that much that needed improvement. I was still a little upset that it wasnt that it was that much, but admit it people, there still are not that many PS3 shooters that can stand up to it NOW. I would give Halo 3 a 8.8 out of 10. I still want resistance 2 more than gears 2, just because I am soo impressed

Sure the guns available are part of the gameplay, but thats the difference between generic FPS's and good ones. The generic will rely on over the top weapons to try to make up for shitty gamplay, while the good ones use weapons as a basic element to interact with the environment. The good ones will concetrate on how the A.I. interacts with you, on how strategies are used, its how Coop elements interact with the story, the flow of the game, the difficulty.

Basing a games gameplay on weapons shown on a video is just dumb, by those standards Blacksite:Area 51 would of been a great game...

I had a huge post written up last night, but this is getting beyond pointless, so I refrained from posting it.

Gebx, although I see your point to a degree, you still disappoint me.

Kill tracking isn't remotely near what I was talking to. Have you ever played Resistance online? Have you ever seen the online statistics for Resistance? It doesn't sound like you have, because the stat tracking system of Halo 3, like CoD4, PALES in comparison. This isn't an opinion, it's a fact. There is no other game with as detailed information of online statistics at the current time than Resistance: Fall of Man. Period..this shouldn't even be argued about..if you argue it, you're being a fanboy. Sorry, it's true.

Being able to curb-stomp your oponent is nice, but only 4v4? That'll be fun for the first few days, but I play online multiplayer with 8 or 9 people. That's going to be boring for me and all of my friends when we have to neglect to play with a few just because the game is too small in scale. But like you said - both games aren't going to appeal to the same people all the time.

I'll reiterate my opinion one more time that the reason Halo 3 is so popular is because it's a 'newer version' of Halo 2. The game is very similar..and did Halo 2 not have some of the highest ratings pre-Halo 3? No one wants to play an old version of the same game, and the old version was extremely popular. It shouldn't be surprising that the new one is just as popular.

My argument against Halo 3 is that the difference between it an Halo 2 is so small that it's not even worth it. And almost every friend that I played Halo 2 hardcore with no longer plays Halo 3 because most of them agree. Good thing for Bungie, though, that a lot of other people don't get tired of playing the same thing with new maps. For me - I do.

I also like sniping from 50 feet away or using an Auger to kill people who like to hide behind walls or using a splicer to cut someones heart out. You prefer chainsawing and curb-stomping. To each his own.

I'm sorry, but unless I'm missing something big RFOM stat tracking isn't that mindblowing. In fact its worse than halo 3 in numerous ways. Fact.

Compare;

http://www.myresistance.net/ostat.php?pname=kktoronto0711

http://www.bungie.net/stats/Halo3/CareerStats.aspx?player=PaladinKnight02

Keep in mind that halo allows you to view any game you've ever played. It allows you to see a map that displays where you die most often and where you get the most kills. Or you can break down stats based on map.

Not to mention that the presentation and navigation on Bungie's site is superior.

OT: Neither game is out yet. let's argue then

Not trying to be a fanboy. Of course, it's hard when you own the best console eve... dang it
