This is exactly what I hate about Obama. He talks about change and how McCain uses the same old politics but yet he is using the same old politics too.

Hypocrisy is a huge pet peeve for me. However I still think he is what the Country needs more than McCain.

Seems we are on the same page. I do not think McCain is the best choice for Pres... But it looks like there is no alternative.

Are you guys for real?  I think Obama needs to get even more nasty if he wants to win.  The republicans have run some of the most disgraceful campaigns under Karl Rove and now McCain is following the same path.

Negative campaigns only exist because they work.  This is extremely sad and pathetic, but people keep falling for it.

Republicans have learned a few neat things, primarily:

1.) The bigger the lie, the more people are willing to accept it.  Most people will see through small lies - after all, we all commit small lies on a regular basis, whether "little white lies" or otherwise.  People can't fathom the truly large and disgusting lies, lies that they themselves would never commit.  It's easier to accept the perception that a greater lie is the truth than it would be to accept that even a politican would commit a lie so large.

2.) If you repeat a lie, over and over again, there are a certain percentage of people who will believe it no matter what.  The other, larger percentage of people, will generally dismiss it as "politicians being politicians", and unless the lie/attack is so disgraceful and so severely debunked on a widespread basis, it will not negatively effect their opinion.  The small percentage of people that accepted the lie are lost to the opposition for good.

I would have never believed year 2000 McCain would do this :(  Back when the straight talk express really was straight talk

Once Elected, Palin Hired Friends and Lashed Foes

http://www.nytimes.com/2008/09/14/us/politics/14palin.html?ex=1379131200&en=dd4449ce3310ba6e&ei=5124&partner=digg&exprod=digg

Gov. Sarah Palin lives by the maxim that all politics is local, not to mention personal.

So when there was a vacancy at the top of the State Division of Agriculture, she appointed a high school classmate, Franci Havemeister, to the $95,000-a-year directorship. A former real estate agent, Ms. Havemeister cited her childhood love of cows as a qualification for running the roughly $2 million agency.

Ms. Havemeister was one of at least five schoolmates Ms. Palin hired, often at salaries far exceeding their private sector wages.

When Ms. Palin had to cut her first state budget, she avoided the legion of frustrated legislators and mayors. Instead, she huddled with her budget director and her husband, Todd, an oil field worker who is not a state employee, and vetoed millions of dollars of legislative projects.

Wasen't the NY Times the paper that broke the story about Palin censoring books? I think Cnn proved that wrong. Are trying to find things wrong? Why don't they even it up and write a story about the Terrorist Ayers that Obama is buddies with.... Wait there is not ebough proof... Does not seem to stop them with Palin now does it (reffering to the book story).

If there were no laws in Alaska against this, and the person did a good job why make this a story? It is illegal for a President to it (Did not stop Bill from making Hilary a Secretary), and she would not be making the appointments anyways. This looks like another attempt from the NY Times to smear Palin...

4. McCain Campaign Add Acuses Obama of supporting Sex-Ed for Kinderergarden. Obama says they are lying through their teeth.

The Truth- Obama is lying through his teeth about NOT supporting it. I have seen the bill which he pushed through the Illinios State senate which specifically calls for Sex-ed for Kindergarden. Also, I heard a clip of him saying sex-ed for kindergarden was "the right thing to do". Talking about the pot calling the kettle black.

Obama is tarnishing his Image as the "Different" politician every time he opens his mouth. He is now calling McCain sleazy, and dishonest. I have gone from liking him as a person to almost detesting him. From the comparisons to Jesus (comunity organizer) to crying like a 8 year old to his momma when people are picking on him.  He makes me sick.

Your post really wasn't worth responding to.  You are an unapologetic and ill-informed troll, and I will enjoy licking up your salty, bitter tears at the end of this election cycle.

Here's a little video maybe you should watch about Obama's "sex ed for kindergartners" - http://www.politico.com/blogs/bensmith/0908/Planned_Parenthood_defends_Obama_attacks_McCain.html?showall  And here's another great video you should watch - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hYQAv2HnuCQ  - McCain's strategist gets shut down completely on this issue.  It's hysterical.  I really hope this is one of the things that really ends up backfiring on McCain as the media starts to decide the lies are not worth the horse-race reporting.

McCain is officially running the sleaziest, most lie-filled, distorted and disgusting campaign I've ever seen.  Every time Obama talks about McCain in a speech, he calls him a great american, or a hero, or an honorable man.... I wish he'd grow a pair and call his ass out for running a campaign dirtier than Karl Rove's.

Wow. You just ripped a line straight from Obama's henchman http://www.cnn.com/2008/POLITICS/09/14/campaign.wrap/index.html

Again- Where are you Montana? He just made a personal attack against me. Ande I now you don't like that one bit. Where are you now? You are always there to swoop in when I say left wing nut job... But what about religious crazies?

Also, again sir Sansui you misunderstand me. I will not cry if McCain loses. I will accept Obama. I will not dowhat the Left wing did to Bush and never give him a chance. Now, please that was some really sad smack talk... Also why does everyone start with- "This is not worth responding to" then end up writing 20 sentances. It seems like a sad attempt to diss me.  Be creative sir Sansue Montana used it first in this thread, or was it Vagabond? Oh well.

ps- from the way it sounds you are the one emotionally connected to your canidate of choice. Just an observation.

There is a difference between presenting well thought out and valid opinions on politics and posting the kind of guttercrap you did with the whole kindergarten sex ed fiasco.  If you honestly can't see that you were trolling by opening this thread with those particular discussion points, I just feel sad for you.  But you ARE trolling, so I will call you a troll.

I did not call YOU a religious ring wing crazy, nor anybody else on this forum.  But you made this thread, and you opened with what you did, so expect the responses that you're getting.

I'm guessing you still didn't watch those videos, as you did not respond to the truth of that matter, just attacked me as being attached to 'my candidate'.  Typical.

And as far as what the Left did to Bush?  Are you kidding?  Everyone was united behind Bush until 2004, when we began to realize that we were possibly miss-sold on the Iraq war.  Don't even give me that kind of crap... what Bush and his administration have done to this country is the disgrace, not whatever the Left "did" to Bush.

I am not emotionally connected to Obama.  I disagree with Obama on quite a few points, but not nearly as many as I do with McCain.  I'm emotionally connected to anything other than McCain at this point.

I am pretty surprised MontanaHatchet hasn't banned bigjon yet...

We had two bags of grass, seventy-five pellets of mescaline, five sheets of high-powered blotter acid, a salt shaker half full of cocaine, a whole galaxy of multi-colored uppers, downers, screamers, laughers…Also a quart of tequila, a quart of rum, a case of beer, a pint of raw ether and two dozen amyls.  The only thing that really worried me was the ether.  There is nothing in the world more helpless and irresponsible and depraved than a man in the depths of an ether binge. –Raoul Duke

It is hard to shed anything but crocodile tears over White House speechwriter Patrick Buchanan's tragic analysis of the Nixon debacle. "It's like Sisyphus," he said. "We rolled the rock all the way up the mountain...and it rolled right back down on us...."  Neither Sisyphus nor the commander of the Light Brigade nor Pat Buchanan had the time or any real inclination to question what they were doing...a martyr, to the bitter end, to a "flawed" cause and a narrow, atavistic concept of conservative politics that has done more damage to itself and the country in less than six years than its liberal enemies could have done in two or three decades. -Hunter S. Thompson

They did not lie. They just said things in a way that sheds a better light on themselves, or in a way that makes Obama look worse. There was TRUTH in every statement they made. And if there was not they corrected it. Like with the Palin traveling to Iraq thing.

Here is what it comes down to. If Sarah Palin is not destroyed by the election McCain will win. The Democrat are going to do everything to tear here down.

They started with experiance- That has backfired (many people actually she is more Qualified than Obama)

Then went to bad mother- Really backfired, reminded people about how Obama treated Hilary

They tried redneck- did not work, she acts and look to professional for people to buy it.

Now they are trying pathological liar- I do not think it will work, it will just make Obama look like a cry baby (which was my topic)

Do you at least agree if Palin remains as popular as she is McCain might very well win?   (might be the only way he wins)

Barrack Obama is all about style not substance, he is a brilliant speaker with wonderful rethoric, he is young, popular, loved by the media. But even with all that media attention and iconic image, people start to see what matters, and policies should matter most.

Obama stands for very left wing (extreme in American circumstances) policies: Tax increase, reversing Bush's cuts, anti free trade policies etc. Also that left wing approach would mean USA's going towards isolationism: withdrawal from iraq (will prove disastrous for this country, and would hurt prestige even further), allowing Russia to grow stronger and stronger, and going against anti missle programme.

Another thing is that sen. Obama from the start was presenting himself as an outsider, self made man, that's different. But he is just like those before him, he uses negative campaign, he is not as clean as he describes himself eg. Rezko, ACORN. (Im not saying McCain is better in that area.)

Some people are starting to judging candidates not by their look, appearance and popularity but by their policies and they making a choice. They dont want to vote for a socialist.

I'm 13 and I could not care who gets elected.

I mean REALLY don't care.

I care so little, that if I was a bear, I would be called an Un-care Bear.

Ok - they did lie.  Numerous times.  They have been called out on this by non-partisan fact checking political organizations already.  What Obama's campaign has done is "distort" and "shed light differently".  McCain's has just outright lied numerous times, in addition to the many distortions.

And if Palin remains popular and people decide that McCain is healthy enough that she is a non-risk in the VP position,, then yes, McCain has at least a 50/50 shot at winning.  Over the next month I do believe that her popular buzz as a fresh face will fade considerably, as people forget the buzz and start looking at character and the negative stories about her administration as mayor and governor, and not just the positive ones.

Ok, Im adding political threads to my boycott list. No more LBP , conduit or political threads for me. Until the games come out and the election is over, I will no longer read anyone else's opinions on those subjects.

exactly. Like you said they need all of the negative stories they can get. But how are they going to explain the 83% aproval rating. You don't get that by not serving the people.

You see when you say lie that means they said it knowing it was not true and said it anyways. Like the pig with lipstick, if McCain really did feel this was a shot a Palin he did not lie. However that does not make it true. That is why I believe saying lie is not a good idea for anyone. That means you are not only judging their statement but their motives. I wish you guys would get that. But now I must call my fiance. I will come back and continue to "troll" in future days ; )
