Forums - Gaming Discussion - WILL Blu ray go to xbox 720?

I don't think MS want to have a BR because it will be a slap in the face and go against what they have been saying as Starcraft has pointed out- DD (i think that's what he said, if not, I'm sorry).

However, most gamers I know are totally against it since they rather own the physical product then just have something in a HDD that you can't even take to your mates house or swap games with.

Saying this, it is not unlikely since MS will love the idea that everyone will be forced to buy a game, sharing games with friends will not be possible and it will kill of the 2nd hand gaming market as we know.

However, if this is to happen and the PS3 offers games to be sold in physical form as well as Ninty, MS will end up shooting themselves in the face (not the foot) IMO.

Retailers will revolt too if one of the consoles goes entirely DD. They love how much money they make off game sales. Games now are like what CD's used to be.

We had two bags of grass, seventy-five pellets of mescaline, five sheets of high-powered blotter acid, a salt shaker half full of cocaine, a whole galaxy of multi-colored uppers, downers, screamers, laughers…Also a quart of tequila, a quart of rum, a case of beer, a pint of raw ether and two dozen amyls.  The only thing that really worried me was the ether.  There is nothing in the world more helpless and irresponsible and depraved than a man in the depths of an ether binge. –Raoul Duke

It is hard to shed anything but crocodile tears over White House speechwriter Patrick Buchanan's tragic analysis of the Nixon debacle. "It's like Sisyphus," he said. "We rolled the rock all the way up the mountain...and it rolled right back down on us...."  Neither Sisyphus nor the commander of the Light Brigade nor Pat Buchanan had the time or any real inclination to question what they were doing...a martyr, to the bitter end, to a "flawed" cause and a narrow, atavistic concept of conservative politics that has done more damage to itself and the country in less than six years than its liberal enemies could have done in two or three decades. -Hunter S. Thompson

the Blu-Ray will be standard driver by then.

maybe microsoft will use U-ray. It's a technology which pioneer is developing which will have more space than Blue-ray.

DVD will STILL be the standard, imho, and M$ will use it, along with digital download and flash memory to aviod using brd...flash memory had tons of promise, since usb 2.0 is might fast, and in 2012, 40gb stick will be common, and cheaper than optical options.
