Mine was cracked as well and got it replaced no questions asked by Nintendo. They are the absolute best in customer service in the gaming business.

My DS is broken @ the hinge but it plays DS and GBA games perfectly fine.
It's a known defective of DS Lite. I have 3 DS in my house 2 already have broken hinge. However, Nintendo is really good about replacement, however, they send me replacement refurbish that have dead pixel ...

Mine cracked a week after I got it- stupid cheap made piece of junk! I took it back to the store, and they replaced it. About a month ago, the second one cracked too! I hate this cheap Chinese labor!
