I suppose you're not near the coast? It seems Ike will create huge storm surge.

No, I am pretty far inland. They said people in Houston will be fine as long as they stay indoors, and they are way closer to the coast than me, so I am not that worried. I will keep an eye on things though.
We had two bags of grass, seventy-five pellets of mescaline, five sheets of high-powered blotter acid, a salt shaker half full of cocaine, a whole galaxy of multi-colored uppers, downers, screamers, laughers…Also a quart of tequila, a quart of rum, a case of beer, a pint of raw ether and two dozen amyls. The only thing that really worried me was the ether. There is nothing in the world more helpless and irresponsible and depraved than a man in the depths of an ether binge. –Raoul Duke
It is hard to shed anything but crocodile tears over White House speechwriter Patrick Buchanan's tragic analysis of the Nixon debacle. "It's like Sisyphus," he said. "We rolled the rock all the way up the mountain...and it rolled right back down on us...." Neither Sisyphus nor the commander of the Light Brigade nor Pat Buchanan had the time or any real inclination to question what they were doing...a martyr, to the bitter end, to a "flawed" cause and a narrow, atavistic concept of conservative politics that has done more damage to itself and the country in less than six years than its liberal enemies could have done in two or three decades. -Hunter S. Thompson

Move to Syracuse, then you'll only get 63 full days of sun per year. Not only that, Syracuse can usualy claim to be the snowiest city >35k population in the US.

There was a Hurricane here once.... but it was a few months before I was born... and it wasn't officially a hurricane, just a big storm.

Ike will destroy Galveston. Storm has yet to hit officially, and people have already had to evacuate to their roof tops. Its also getting slightly stronger, and the area of hurricane force winds in enormous. The storm itself is almost as big as Texas now. Its bigger than most of the countries in the world.
The interesting thing is how the city will be rebuilt, as Galveston is Ron Paul's district (Ron Paul = Libertarian) and he isn't exactly a fan of FEMA's competency (which is probably only a good position locally when your district isnt obliterated).

Texas and Especially Texas has a chance to be struck. But all the Golf Coast states should be prepared.
Ohh I thought you meant Ike from Fire Emblem/SuperSmash Bros.
