Forums - Nintendo - Wii...

It's now less than 1 million behind lifetime sales of the Nintendo 64. I really loved the N64, I thought it was WAY better than PS1, but I was in the minority. I guess it's partly because I have a passion for cartridge based games, playing them since I was 5! I just had a hard time getting into the disc format for gaming, and even though TG-16 was the first to go disc, Neo Geo, and others became dedicated CD consoles. Who knows what Sega was thinking during the whole Sega CD lifetime- a CD based Genesis??? Then, they come out with 32-X, CARTRIDGE again??? Well, now Nintendo is disc based, and their number one system will eventually be the Wii. I predict it will pass the NES' 62 million total sometime in 2010. It will probably finish this year at 40 million, reach 50 million sometime next year, be about 60 million at the end of 2009, finally passing Nintendo's most loved system in 2010. It will be an awesome comeback, but the Wii and the DS will be AMAZING in lifetime sales, blowing away even Nintendo of the 80's!!!

I think Wii will pass the 60 million mark before 2010, at their current rate of production (is it 2.4 mil / month?) that's 30 million in a year,it could probably hit 70 million by 2010.

I think it will reach 60M by christmas 09 other then that I fully aprove of you and your tastes.

So you guys predict the wii will stay sold out for all of 2009 as well?

I don't disagree with anything you say, but why did you choose the same non-descript title as another thread you started just a couple of days ago?

Actually Leo, it could reach all those targets without selling out. (based on 2.4 mil/month manufactured)

Easily.

Nintendo's current projection is 51 million by next March... at 2.4 million per month they would just miss 80 million by March 2010... so 70 million 3 months earlier is almost certain.

Who said it would be sold out..... Even if they don't increase production, there would be almost 73 million Wii's shipped before 2010.

It could quite easily be well stocked and still sell over 70 million.

The Nintendo 64....i loved it. All those who said it had crappy cartridtges were those who were sat waiting for their playstation game to load.

Ah the good times

I hope my 360 doesn't RRoD
