Nails don't do much good in sockets. I guess if it's a power socket you could electrocute and kill yourself. So the PS3 Kingdom Hearts 3 is dead? Yeah I can see that.

@OP - So lets get this straight. If a game is re-released or ported to the Wii, the dev is pushing shovelware to make a quick buck, but if its for the PS2, the company is to be hailed? Just trying to figure that one out.

Even farther more, a game that is half of the Japanese version.

Agree with Naz and Kitchen. By your logic that would mean FFVII would be remade on DS or Wii, Square is supporting every base, and giving Nintendo and Sony love with the KH series. And yes KH3 on PS3 is dead, we need a demotivational poster of a guy nailing a nail into a socket with EPIC FAIL at the bottom.

Maybe this points to no KH3 in the foreseeable future.

Also, remember that this game is PS2. And since the PS3 does not play PS2 games (or most do not, including all models currently being sold), it proves that S-E is serving the KH fanbase (which bought the games on PS2).

The big question for S-E is to what system did/will the Kingdom Hearts players migrate to. By releasing this console version of a handheld game, it has time to think through that analysis. It also can see whether they have upgraded at all.

And if it sells really really well, KH3 could be on PS2. If it does not, it could end the KH series.

More likely, S-E will have to look and see if the players of this series moved to PS3 or Wii. I imagine it is a split decision but may lean more toward the Wii at this time. That does not mean it will still be whenever S-E makes its decision. But that would be the way to bet.

THIS.  Fanboys hating Nintendo for getting remakes or ports of old crap and cause PS2 gets one it means a major game like KH3 is going to PS3?  Not really taking any side of the theories, but the Wii theory makes the most sense, and I would probably not buy it on PS3 honestly I don't think I could put up with "just another KH game with the same gameplay just prettier" I would get really bored of it.  I loved KH1 and KH2 but by the end of KH2 I was wanting something really different in the series.

Releasing Kingdom Hearts Chain of Memories Plus for the PS2 in the west would hurt the sales of the PS3.

PS3 owners have been waiting for Square Enix developed RPGs and Kingdom Hearts is a big game that will have millions of playstation owners purchasing a game to play on the PS2 instead of the PS3. This may even bring in new customers to purchase a ps2 at a time when the PS3 needs as much support as possible. This also may or may not relight the flames of the debate about whether or not Sony should have maintained backwards compatibility in all PS3 models.

No, I do not believe that this move has any relation to Square developing Kingdom Hearts 3 for the PS3. Square needs money because of the lengenthy development of  Final Fantasy XIII and all of its planned iterations.

No KH3 on the PS3 wouldn't make it complete because you still have the DS game and furthermore S-E will never release the special editions of the KH games in the West meaning only Japan will ever get the definitive versions of the games.
