Forums - Nintendo - God hates me. Eternal Darkness DRE.

I finally found a copy of Eternal Darkness. I have waited the whole weekend and when I finally get my hands on it ... The fucking thing doesn`t work. I am really pissed. When I started the game I got some really loud noises as the Wii was trying to read it. I started the game, watched the long cutscene and after a minute: error, turn off your GC and look at the manual bla bla bla. Tried again and this time the game won`t even get past the intro (with SK logo). I tried cleaning the disc and still got the same problem. The annoying part is that I can`t see any scracthes or finger marks on the disc (it looks new, much better than my other GC discs). I have tried several Wii and GC games, so the problem is not with the console.

So I want to beg for help. Any GC owner that had similar problems on any game? What can I do? Is there any sort of trick to clean GC discs?

Weird... mine worked fine.

I presume it was second hand if you were looking for scratches? You could try that 360 trick, put the Wii on it's side and try it that way?

the same thing happened to my Wind waker disc.. it was used >_> so I had to return it for another one... that's the last time I buy used discs...

First off, I don't hate you.

This isn't the off topic secton Rol... so keep to the topic at hand.

1) Yes, it is a used game. The thing is so rare that I would have to pay the price of a Wii for a sealed one.

2) My Wii is always on the vertical position (that sounded a little awkward).

That's how the game is. It plays tricks on you the entire time you play. Next it'll leap out and unball all of the socks in your sock drawer. Eternal Darkness is just CRAZZZZYYY like that.

could be the scratch is on the label side, which cannot be recovered.

Have you tried apologizing to God for that thing you did?

There are other, less obvious, types of damage that can plague an optical disc. For example, the previous owner may have left it in the sun too long, yet the damage wouldn't necessarily be visible.

I would return it and check the gamestop online system... I've had luck finding hard-to-find titles that way.
