The funny thing is I don't see you guys proving him wrong, but attacking him instead. Yes, he should know better to come here to say such hurtful things against your beloved wii, but he isnt lying. He should have mentioned that all consoles are toys, but my question is:

Why being called a toy insulting? I love toys. They are fun.

Not only that but i said there was no problem with it being a toy. that it was a great system and has a large following, one of which, myself, is a hardcore metroid fan....

All console systems and handhelds are toys....

BAM! There it is!

I think none of you actually read my piece since you all reasponded within a minute, and i know it takes more than a minute to read.

In serious debate, the wii is more of a toy than it's counterparts. The 360 and ps3 have been working on bringing almost an unrealistic pursuit of "art" in games, whereas the nintedo has been working on having a fun time, not that fun isn't a great thing....

Yes the Wii is more of a toy then the other two and that is why it´s succeding since all consoles are supposed to be toys but the PS3 and the 360 fail in that department.

This is the exact kind of thing i am talking about trying to stop in the first paragraph.

Each has their own market strategy, and the other two don't market themselves as toys.

That´s one of the reasons why Nintendo is winning, the other 2 companies market themselves on the additional functions thay have more then the actuall gaming and by doing so they made it easier for Nintendo to keep selling. Videogames are toys and the media stuff is only something that adds to the experience it doesn´t define it like MS & Sony are trying to do.

btw not calling you a troll OP i respect that you dont have to like but this sounds like you believe there is no overlap between the audience of wii and the HD consoles. theres actually quite a bit

i myself had a wii, and i own a ds. i feel the games are too short, and too simple, even though they are fun. playing the games i feel more like someone was just trying to sell me something rather than blow me away.

i am just sick of people saying that nintendo is smarter than the consoles, because they do not sell the same thing, or at least the games i play on ps60 are not the same as the games that I play on wii. i do not think nintendo is "smarter"

they are smart, no more no less. because of this, i think it is unfair for every wii owner to constantly abject other owners to Wii pwns your console in sales numbers tripe.

I like my epic games, and the wii did nothing to satisfy me, if one day it does, then i will buy one again, but after brawl, the game i bought it for, i was disappointed. this is not an attack on the wii, i don't know why nobody understands this, but as far as entertainment goes, it is more of a toy than the other two. this is not an attack.

No this is what you keep doing vaio. MS and Sony are doing well enough with their own market strategy. i just want people to stop saying that nintendo is a better console maker.

by the same points you could say that harry potter is a better book than any religious book because it markets itself as a book and not a way of life.

consider that a true statement, although this site is wii bias so this thread will get locked

i am sorry for the misinterpretation, but i never meant to say the other consoles weren't toys.
I did however point out that the wii was less of a video games consoles and more of an "all ages entertainment"

In the terms of Games, It's up to the gamer himself to decide what he likes. Because you don't understand why someone likes the wii and its games doesnt make the less epic or artistc. I am sure the wii is loaded with epic games.

And if they don't its because the wii is not getting the support the ps2 got last Gen.

This is a pretty horrible topic. You thought you had a point but you really didn't.

A console is just an entertainment system. The only major difference between the Wii and PS3 and 360 is processing power. The PS3 and 360 can't be used for business, they can only be used for entertainment and leisure, just like the Wii. The PC is more than a toy, the PS3 and 360 are not.

The software argument is ridiculous. I own more "hardcore" Wii games than PS3 games. Your ignorance of a game system's library doesn't give you the right to make large and insulting generalizations about its appeal. Each individual piece of software has its own target audience on all consoles. Games like Viva Pinata, LBP, and Mario may reach wide audiences that include children but games like Halo are targeted at teens and college kids and Big Brain Academy at adults.

O Lock, LOL,

I think the people here say it all.

I haven't commented on a post in like a week and I think anything I would say on this would only be re-hash because I see no middle ground here.

Sometimes something is wrong no matter who says it (or does it). At the same time I hope that everyone on this site continues to post.

Oh please!! Art in games has nothing to do with the power of the processor or the polygon count. You can create a wonderful story using SNES graphics if the writing is strong enough it'll be art. Also, realism doesn't necessarily equal art.

so where are these games truck?

Mario Paint! I kid, I kid...

FF6 and Chrono Trigger have decent stories but I don't think people will learn about them in literature in future generations. My point was that you could create a wonderfully engaging story on the SNES. The game wouldn't be very popular though because it would be too wordy for people looking to play a game.

My problem with what you said is that you implied that "art-games" could only be done on the 360/PS3 while they could just as well be done on the Wii.
