Forums - Sony - Sony E3 2007 conference thread

Oh hey, I don't think I saw it in the recently released trailer this morning, but watching the footage shown from streaming (which I guess they got an actual gameplay demonstration live) was the 'in-motion' part of that first Killzone screenshot that came out the other day, did anybody else notice it? I must say, MUCH BETTER in motion.

Hey, another FPS.

 And another

And now Sony becomes the new console for shooters, woohoo.... And the xbots thought they would get them all, schucks. j/k

Not really, dammit though I missed it, actually had to work, which I believe is completely unfair. Has anyone here seen if it is on www.ps3.tv ? I hope so, I want to see it tonight, and not on lame ass LD(low def) youtube.

BTW, this is the Sony forum, so isn't talking shit about Sony kinda a no-no? I even managed to NOT talk smack about the 360 in the MS forum, I even did say a couple of constructive things....... at least once ;)

Lol a lots of trolling of the Wii trolls duh!
Always blaming me that I have to wait to say things about the Wii after E3 now they see theirself their is not much to be happy about and hup they tholl here.

Agh  they still have Wii fit :).

About the Sony Conference:    I was happy to see those new trailers and hope to see gameplay footage soon (MGS4 next wee yes!).   Killzone 2 did not dissapoint me.

The new exclusive game Sucker Punch (I don't know I spelled the name correct) looked somehow like Crackdown but a the with a dark setting and some kind of X-men powers great!

Time to Work !

Quick thoughts:

I watched this one delayed a bit. Sony definitely wins this e3. They had the most news for gamers. Nintendo wins with the mainstream media, but they were going to do that even if they didn't show up. Sony definitely had the most new stuff to show.

Now, sometime in some thread, I'll put down my thoughts on all this e3 stuff that we've seen/will be seeing.

OK, just watched it, and I agree Sony beat the competition. Helps that they didn't (couldn't, really) do a sales report at the start, and the games they showed sure looked pretty. Even a game or two I'm interested in.

As for criticism- too long. Too many shooters (my RPG lovin' wife watched with me and, despite being the PS1 and PS2 player in the family, was seriously disappointed that everything PS3 was an action/shooter). Chewbacca's costume needs some maintenance. I found Home creepy. Felt to me like it was aimed at sucking in the MMORPG/Second Life crowd, and those people can make me... uncomfortable.

The only complaint that I have that really matters though, is that I'm not sure they showed the PS3 as the console to get this holiday, especially at the low low price of.... what they had last year (yeah, I know - the models are better, cheaper, but the price tags in the Sunday ads are still gonna be the same). Most of the big titles are 2008. If they can muster through 2007 decently, I have confidence that they will pull out of their funk. But if they don't, I can see a lot more 3rd party support going to the competition. But at least the ball's back in the court now.

Yeah, Nintendo has only this. Not NiGHTS, RE:UC, Mario & Sonic, MySims, Rayman Raving Rabbids 2, DBZ 3, Dewy's Adventure etc...

Looking at that list, I see 1 game I will buy and 1 I might.

But seriously DBZ 3?

If we're going to make lists about what we have interest in, I'd point out that I have zero interest in any PS3 game being released this year save tepid interest in Ratchet.

I think what we really need to do is look objectively, and say what a large portion of people will like, and what will sell. I'll bet you good money that Mario and Sonic, MySims and Rayman Raving Rabbids sell a great deal of copies this year. Over 1 million for all of them.

I knew I saw it during the streaming of the Sony conference. Look around to see where the first Killzone screenshot is actually in motion. It looks MUCH better than what the screenshot can show.

It's closer to the end though.

C'mon ckmlb you can't honestly be telling me you're not the least disappointed that they didn't show anybody actually playing any games at their conference? MS played CoD4, Madden 08, AC which are all multiplats but still something. Nintendo played Zelda DS, MP3, and WiiFit. Sony - just a bunch of trailers.

I'm not saying it was bad but it definitely could've been a lot better. Not the least of the problems was the stupid 4-screen tiny presentation format.

The creater of Killzone played it infront of the audience, just most newscasts skipped that part. Apparently according to G4TV the game being played looked better then the video.

Also you have to remember that 90% of what was shown is on the show floors. We will be seeing a ton of gameplay vids tomorrow.

I believe the two guys from G4 said after the conference ended that the footage shown to the people streaming/watching the conference on TV was different than what was shown live. I can believe this because after the footage was done, a Killzone developer was on-stage with the Sixaxis in his hand waving (something that defies the footage we saw jumping around from location to location, as well as the different sounds). So I think the crowd got a run through of the level that was shown at the Killzone event this morning.
