As a main entry to the Tales of series, ToV sold like ass, now if it was a spinoff like Symphonia Wii then its sale would've been acceptable.

And you're plain wrong. The Wii demonstrated that it can clearly sell more JRPG. The crappy spin-off of Tales of Symphonia sold more than the big main Tales of Vesperia. So far, the numbers show that to be true.

Given Namco's initial expectations of 500k units of ToV, the prospect is not good, like not good at all.

I'm not even sure they can break even with 500k, as with ToS, 300k in Japan alone wasn't enough. And they're far from even 200k in Japan.

Total sales of top five JRPG's on Wii = around 1 million.  (thats INCLUDING a Dragon Quest game)

Total sales of top five JRPG's on Xbox 360 - around 2 million (not including ANY established IP)

Hmmm, Dragon Quest sold 700k and Fire Emblem sold about 540k.  Your math needs a little work.

I sure do think it sold poorly. It did great for a 360 game, but as a main Tales game? It did terrible outright terrible. It'll be way below Tales of the Abyss.

If people trolls like hollow victories, then have them. I'll wait until the PS3 gets some good JRPGs before I judge the better seller of JRPGs.

Disgaea 3 is selling worse on PS3 then Vesperia on 360. We can expect a port then of that too?

 

So Disgaea is a JRPG?

Actually yes, it is also SRPG. It is both SRPG and JRPG....but it did horrible in sales regardless.

 

Compare Disgaea to Tales of Vesperia?

If you're not a big fan of Disgaea series,

i would just say that you are humour enough.

 

I never really compared the two, I just stated that both can be classified as a JRPG. Also Disgaea all depends on word of mouth, but I doubt this one will reach 100,000 in America. Hence why I think it bombed.

all you gotta do is bet starcraft that once the ps3 versions of eternal sonata and tales of vesperia release they will double the sales of 360

The PS3 sales of ES will crush the 360's. White Knight Chronicals will be the 1st PS3 big gun Jrpg and it will be huge. Then there is FF13 & FF13v. Also, I think it will be safe to say that FF13 on the PS3 will crush the 360's sales as well.

Time will tell, but, I would wack all my dosh on the PS3, if I could.

 

Dose the PS3 even have any Jrpgs? LOL
