Alright. Normally I get angry when people talk badly about the graphics on the Wii since that is not the strong point of the console but this game "looks" atrocious. It's too bad because I am a hockey fan and would consider this if it were any good at all.

Have you tried/played it? just asking...

No.  But the graphics look really bad.  This game looks like its five years old.  Like I said, I don't normally care about graphics but they really didn't put any effort into them.

Im still not convinced not to buy a game simply because of the reviews and the first impressions of the graphics on screenshots and videos so far, so till theres someone actually tried the game I dont believe in reviews there are many times reviewers says false on their reviews, Sega superstar Tennis and Okami conivinced me not to believe in reviews anymore...

Though Im not a fan of hockey game but then I'll buying Top Spin 3 instead to try it for myself if its good or not.

end of core gaming days prediction:

E3 2006-The beginning of the end. Wii introduced

E3 2008- Armageddon. Wii motion plus introduced. Wii Music. Reggie says Animal crossing was a core game. Massive disappointment. many Wii core gamers selling their Wii.

E3 2010- Tape runs out

It looks fine. This is just more graphics-are-everything crap.

Complexity is not depth. Machismo is not maturity. Obsession is not dedication. Tedium is not challenge. Support gaming: support the Wii.

What do I hate about modern gaming? I hate tedium replacing challenge, complexity replacing depth, and domination replacing entertainment. I hate the outsourcing of mechanics to physics textbooks, art direction to photocopiers, and story to cheap Hollywood screenwriters. I hate the confusion of obsession with dedication, style with substance, new with gimmicky, old with obsolete, new with evolutionary, and old with time-tested.
There is much to hate about modern gaming. That is why I support the Wii.

Another lazy port.

2k hasn't been as good of a series as the EA games for a few years now, although I suppose this game is still lower then the HD versions.

I bought this game yesterday and NHL 09 for the 360.

While EA has the better series by far this was still a nice game to add to my Wii collection. There is a lot lacking in the game but it's still fun to play.

It got a 6.8 not a 6.0

I think my assertions about Sports titles on the Wii are pretty much proven correct, after seeing how overtracked they've been here on VGC, relative to NPD this month, and heck, they looked bad even here.  Nintendo even confirmed NPDs Madden Wii numbers with their own press release.

The Wii, clearly, does not appeal to people who purchase pro-sports league games. This is all but fact, from data a couple years running now. Even with "legs", its pro-sports sales are bad compared to its competitors, especially given the install base differences.  Honestly, the "legs" (if you can call it that) of last years Madden on the Wii can probably be more attributed to the rapid growth of the install base, more than some sort of unexplainable appeal.

The sad part is that the first months numbers seem a lot worse this year, than last... kind of suggesting that more Wii growth is about the only thing that could save future Wii pro-sports titles from extinction in the near term.  Its as if owners of last years Wii Madden actually chose to purchase the game on a different platform, or not at all, and it was mostly the new Wii owners who purchased this year's version.

IMO, that's just fine. There are a lot of other game genres for the Wii to succeed in (and it's doing just fine in other areas, it seems to me).

What about Tiger Woods? Golf is a pro-sport. I also think NPD is usually biased against the Wii because they don't track Wal-Mart and Toys R' Us both of which are very targeted at the Wii demographic. Still Madden is not doing as well as some would have hoped though I have no doubt its legs will keep it from last place.
