Wow..... I didnt think I would ever hear the words "biased posts" from Leo-J in regards to another user.....that's funny. Regardless, its great your back, even though my UBER 360 support conflicts with many of your views, having you around makes threads more fun, though others may not agree, lol.

Normal numbers this week. The American numbers will only reflect 1 day of sales with the new pricing. The next 2 weeks numbers will probably be a better gauge of price cuts in the Americas and Japan and what effects they will/may have.

A JRPG and a casual game.

The two genres most regularly argued as NOT selling to the Xbox 360 userbase.

I think both titles will do excellently, but I dont see many people at all buying systems for them.  Moreover I see them selling very well to the Xbox 360's now strong JRPG userbase and fans of the original Viva Pinata respectively.

Its rumored the PS2 costs Sony approximately 30 dollars to create. The rest of the system goes towards pure profit. This combined with a profit off of PS3, and a profit off of PSP (with the recent surge in sales), I can easily see the company profitting on the 3 billion loss easily.

 

We may have criticized Kutaragi and balked about expense, but it really is like Yoshida said "The Hardware and Software costs are all coming together."

 

I doubt the PS2 costs only 30 dollars to make....I would say around 80 bucks (controller + case + DVD drive + MB + EE+GS + MISCELLANEOUS).

Wow, Ya have to give the PS2 credit. Ps3 fell over last week and the 360 went up. But for me the PS2 takes the cake, imagine if SONY drops the price.

Wheres ioi, I cant wait for the numbers in America, give us a hint, is there a Massive come back coming from the 360? Has it smashed the PS3 into dust and shown the masses that Microsoft has their best gaming intentions close to heart??



I own all three current consoles and a great gaming rig, now thats out of the way.

As I will be posting every week when the Others numbers come out, the 360 is doing way better than the original Xbox and the Gamecube were doing at the same time last gen, and it's still got a lot of great games targeting multiple demographics on the way. Oh sure it'll trail behind the Wii and PS3 in others, but it'll probably be the most successful third place console (second place before this gen) console in the others region.

I'm not too worried about it.

I agree with some of the people here, its just amazing how well the ps2 can keep up with the xbox360.
