Forums - Gaming - 9 years ago , the Dreamcast was released...a short, but amazing life.

Well, the 32X and the Saturn left a bad taste in many gamers´mouth...but with the DC, Sega seemed to be doing almost everything right.

I was much more of an SNES guy too, but the Genesis, IMO, had many gems as well....oh boy, nostalgia kicking in...that generation was my golden time with videogames.

Too bad that it had no DVD drive. With how it has been living its short life, the PS2/DC clash could've been huge.

Stop bothering me from playing Street Fighter 3 Third Strike on my Dreamcast!!! Distracting me with a Dreamcast thread... *Hugs his Dreamcast*

Happy 9th Birthday Dreamcast!

Quite a lot of nostalgia here. By the way, Dreamcasts go for $65 on Ebay right now. Maybe I will pick one up:)

im still a sega fanboy

100% Mexican Power

ALmost bought it

PS3, WII and 360 all great systems depends on what type of console player you are.

Currently playing Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2, Fallout 3, Halo ODST and Dragon Age Origins is next game

Xbox live:mywiferocks

I've seen them for 30 bucks at used stores. I still have 2...neither are plugged in tho :(

Dreamcast had an amazing library of games but also has so many gems that no one talks about these days.

GigaWing2
Ikaruga (only popular recently cause of xbox live re-release)
Canon Spike
Headhunter (AMAZING MGS LIKE GAME!!! for the time)
first experience of Guilty Gear X
dozens of great 2D fighters
Rival Schools
Carrier (ok a little crapy but still fun survival horror game at the time)

I started my gaming with the Master System...then my gaming peaked with Genesis/Snes days. and the only time my gaming has been close to being at the peak again was with the dreamcast...

Also, anyone saying genesis didn't have a diverse library doesn't know what they are talking about. Name me a Snes game (3rd party or not) and I'll name you a sega made game meant to compete with it. Snes had more Japan 3rd party support...but sega was a monster back then.
