I think small space combat in shooters can work if done right, like in Gears where it was still enough to give you lots of room to move and wasn't constricting. If done badly it could be frustrating (FEAR comes to mind).

Also, the previews say there is a cover system in the game and I like that they adopted this like Gears and RS:V and GRAW...

Wow it does look good for a console game.

I wish they'd show more gameplay though.

Thank you. And yes I wanna see as much as possible.

Edit: Yeah the main leader's mouth flapping was weird, they should fix that. Usually I complain about mouthes not opening enough in characters in games, but that guy was opening too much for the stuff he was saying hehe

Well as long the action keeps going for a game I don't mind. I like cutscenes and hate CGI and am willing ot overlook stuff like this.

This game looks good for what it is. However still an FPS on a console with a dual analog controller is not enticing to me.

Tell me about it, that'd be awesome if they announce keyboard and mouse support. Otherwise, I just might have to invest in that SplitFX half-Sixaxis half-mouse thing.

You can use keyboard and mouse on PS3 games, I don't see why they won't allow that option in this game.

Also: If MGS 4 delivers tomorrow at the Sony and Konami keynotes these two and the price cut from Sony are a 1-2-3 punch.

I reported Avalach21 for trolling, hopefully he gets a warning or better yet a ban.

Now that is good shadow work lol much better than the one from that early screen. Just look at that...

Lots of crow eating going on at neogaf lol

So my browser crashed in the middle of a massive response thus reminding me why I loathe MS and wish for their failure, but anyway...

I've seen video of Crysis and it just doesn't look as good as screen shots or tech demos of the game. It clearly loses something in the transition from pictures and fully processed demonstrations to actual gameplay. It's not much better looking than Killzone 2, and other than their pure laziness (aka reliance on DirectX instead of programming their own video drivers and such) I can't see what even keeps Crysis from being on the PS3.

Yeah, screen shots are gorgeous, but to play that game as goos as Crytek is saying it can look (and I dunno if I even believe it considering the gameplay videos I've seen) you need a video card that costs as much as the PS3 itself. God forbid you take into account what the ram and cpu upgrades to match it will cost you.

With the graphics having little advantage over the "competition" and Crysis actually being more expensive to get running at its peak, why in the hell would people care? Even if I cared about FPS (and I don't, so I wish Sony would move developers onto a genre that counts), is it really worth a video card that costs as much as a PS3 alone to play a game that looks only slightly better?

You do not have the right to never be offended.

BTW I am glad tehre are noticeable flaws. It tells me this a real Alpha and not a CGI or even a target render. I am really tired now and want to get up in time for work tommorow. Have to goto a high profile hearing on Thursday and need to prep tomorrow.

Good luck with your hearing.

Also, I too think that the payoff for the top notch graphics cards is arguably not worth it unless you can really afford to spend that money around.
