Tales of Vesperia ist not bad, but not very good either. Tales of Symphonia 2 is much better.

Here's the link. It's mostly talk about NPD and analysis , he does a good job of asssessing the sale and he even predict that MS will need to cut price in September to increase 360 sale as it seems to plateau.
Well, on Neo-Gaf they said 33,000 unit is not bad for ToV since Abyss only did like 12k. I think the game will have long leg though....and with the lack of advertisement and the game being hard to find (only available at certain outlet) the number is not that bad. What was ES number for the first month? wasn't it like 40 or 50k?
Thanks mysticD!

Care to state reasons why, rather than troll? Consider this an unofficial warning.
Back from the dead, I'm afraid.
At any rate:
33k for ToV in the US-only is pretty bad. That'd put it at no more than 40k for NA on the week that VGC has, showing VGC was off by 50%.
Eternal Sonata sold around that in it's first entire month, so compared to ES, it's doing a decent bit better.
The huge antecdotal thing about ToV is the fact that NO ONE can get a copy - Namco either undershipped, or the game stores grossly underestimated sales for the title.
And everyone is a weakling, it seems. I'm at 17hrs in, just after Ghastfrost, and at level 31. Everyone is melting in the wake of Yuri's Blue Dragon+1 blade :)
However, I made the mistake of telling my fiancee that I'd re-start when she beat Lost Odyssey so she could track the story...Thinking that she'd say "oh no, that's fine"...Instead she said "great!". So I may have to restart.
Either way, ToV is beyond good.
Back from the dead, I'm afraid.

Its almost like they don't(or can't) think before they post.
@stickball: Is this 33k for certain? If it is, I have little doubt its due to Namdai's massive cluster**** of the games shipping and ads. But 33k...Its gotta be more then that...

GOTY Contestants this year: Dead Space 2, Dark Souls, Tales of Graces f. Everything else can suck it.
I picked the game up on Saturday and I'm about 15 hours into it thus far. The game is excellent. So far the game is superior to Tales of Symphonia in everyway. The battle system is better. The voice acting is better. Most importantly the characters are better thus far. They do not seem as cliched as they were in ToS. While I haven't played Infinite Undiscovery yet, it will more and likely outsell ToV. I have seen four or five Infinite Undiscovery ads and none for Tales of Vesperia. I don't watch a whole lot of TV either. As Riachu said, Square Enix actually advertises their RPGs.

Now 60 hours in. Just past the first time you can access the hotsprings. 80 man melee defeated. I have to admit to you now, this is one of my favorite games of all time.
@outlawauron
The game is longer than I originally through. As for side quests:
Once you get free range, go sleep at the guild city several times and you'll get an important arte for Karol(You'll see, it's great). The sidequests are basically, revisit cities you've been in and talk to new people/sleep at the inn and get scenes.
You get a score at the end of each battle. It's like +.45 or something like that. It gives you a score on how well you fought. At the end of the game, you go to a one time store where you can spend all the score you've accumulated on stuff that will be carried over to a 2nd playthrough. For instance, you can buy like Exp x10, or you can keep all your arts. That's if you wanna play through a second time.
@troll
I'm sure ToS2 will be great, but degrading ToV isn't necessary. I'm sure that you've played the 60 hour game, yet didn't feel like making your review longer than "ist not bad, but not very good either." but I think you have no clue what you're talking about. I don't think you've ever played the game, and I doubt you're capable of reviewing anything, even if you had played it. Keep up the fight though.
I don't need your console war.
It feeds the rich while it buries the poor.
You're power hungry, spinnin' stories, and bein' graphics whores.
I don't need your console war.
NO NO, NO NO NO.
I hope the low Xbox sales numbers don't keep Namco from porting other Tales games to the US. I swear to God I'll buy and use Japanese Rosetta Stone to play a game this good.

Bah, all this praise sort of hurts ToS:DotNW for me, since I know the spin off won't even be as good as the original. Oh well, I'm sure I'll have a 360 someday...
This is why I hate exclusives, btw. It just sucks missing out on great games b/c of this console war crap. I mean, imagine how many Japanese gamers will miss out on this one.
