6. Playstation 3
28. XBox 360 Elite
51. XBox 360 Premium (60 GB)
54. XBox 360 Arcade

Pretty steady (all in stock and all dropped a little), IMO it does not look like that the price cut had a major impact so far. Just like was the case for Europe a while ago.

I think you're getting ahead of yourself here. Besides how many times has it been said on this site that Amazon is not a good way to judge a trend. The other day I went to Bestbuy and then Target (needed dinner) and both places were sold out of the Arcade and Premium models since the price drop. I did however see 4-6 PS3s there. For me to make a thread about what I saw would be met with the same comment about how the "evidence" doesnt mean that there is a trend.

IDC what console sells more so the whole thing is pointless to me but to take a piece of "evidence" and make a grossly overestimated prediction like that is pretty lame. Btw, in terms of the fanboy hardware sales that you like to see, the price drop in Europe didnt satisfy the 360 fans. It did however boost sales in its own right and its selling a lot better than it would had there been no price drop. Look at the hardware graphs, they've been posted a lot over the last view days regarding this topic.

And my BestBuy was sold out on PS3 and fully stocked on every 360 model last friday...

Visit to a single store don't mean much..

PS3-Xbox360 gap : 1.5 millions and going up in PS3 favor !

The cut was announced for the 5th but didn't properly come into effect across most of the states until over the weekend.

Was it in place at your bestbuy?

How many times do I have to say I don't care. IMO it's interesting, much more interesting than small local store data.

Stock levels say very little, my local Media Markt store is currently overloaded by PS3s (40GB MGS4 bundles, 80 GB models and 40GB standalone PS3s), a short while ago they had very few. They now have very little 360 stock (no new stock deliveries in quite a while) and still lots of leftover Wiis from a few months ago, but the 360 is clearly the slowest selling console at the store.

What I was saying, the price cut does not seem to have had a major effect. Amazon bestseller rankings are rather similar as before the price cut.

If your theory is that the computer nerds who do their shopping at online retailers are likely to spend more money on electronics than non-nerds who go to Wal-mart, then I'd say you're on to something, Sherlock.

Question: what if you added up all three of those 360 models together? After all, they all count as 360 sales, ya know.

Could I trouble you for some maple syrup to go with the plate of roffles you just served up?

Well it's not news that Amazon isn't a good place to measure sales.

On another note...when people said Wii would be supply constrained until 2009, I (and many others) thought it was impossible..and seeing as it's still sold out on Amazon and going way over MSRP, looks like it's going to happen.

PS3 still steady at spot 5, highest ranked 360 model (Elite) at spot 38. All still in stock.

Does not look like the 360 is selling like hotcakes over at amazon. Wonder what NPD's figures will be like for the month.

We don't know their obsolute figures, we only know things like currently the PS3 sells faster than the recently released Star Wars game for the 360 at amazon and the highest ranked 360 model sells slower than the oldie New Super Mario Bros for the Nintendo DS.

I don't know why some people hate amazon statistics, I think they are more interesting than a thread about someone's local mini stores (which may market for and target more a specific type of customer) we have seen here at VGChartz. Amazon has special delivery offers for the 360 and not for the PS3, so this site is not favouring the PS3.
