Before I bought a PS3 I was excited but not anymore (looking forward to Killzone 2 now). Nevertheless, I'm happy someone is showing that the Wii is capable of more than just shovelware.

What made you excited before? What has turned you away?
For sure we know that the graphics and possible not even the artstyle will live up to Killzone 2 and other top FPS games on PS3 (or Xbox 360), but don't you want to feel the Wii Remote in your hand, pretending it was some kind of gun and just aim and shoot with it in the best kind of FPS game on Wii?
I for one don't care if a mouse is better and/or easier to aim with or if my arms will tire of all my movements or that my aiming will degraded along with it.
Nice graphics and the horsepower to do stuff on screen Wii can't will make me buy games for my girlfriends Xbox 360 or play some of the games she will buy, but that don't make Wii games any lesser, just different experiences.

Before, it was all I knew but now I can't give up smooth online play(no codes), chatting with friends, leaderboards, co-op etc. Not to mention great graphics and physics engines.
If I could play Cod4 with a wiimote though that would be awesome but I'm used to the playstation controller and it's good.

We still don't know all about Online play on Conduit, except for friendcodes, it might be smooth and good. Wii Speak will help a bit with chatting. It's not like you have to give up on playing your PS3 games and better graphics on PS3 does not make Conduit a lesser game.
Is graphics and friendcodes all that is in your way? Do you have anything against Conduit that aint about the capabilities of Wii?

I just wish they nailed the lighting of the environments. The characters look much darker than their surroundings in some screenshots. |
Well from the podcast on IGN a WHILE back they were in an interview saying they were working on LAN and online during that period, saying they were shooting for 16 online with the hope of getting as many as they can but 16 was their goal at the time, they said they had about 13 online up and running well and 11 on LAN running well. As for Friend codes they said they don't want them in the game, a confirmation on that is going to be the case has yet to be made. They will have Wii speak online so you can talk some smack to people online. At the moment for modes they said it's the standards for now, deathmatch, team deathmatch, CTF, Team CTF, and have talked about other modes like king of the hill but not sure if thats official yet or not.
The game overall looks 10 times better in motion though some of the characters might have something glowing on them not sure but I haven't really noticed bad lighting on characters myself though I do pay more attention to the vids then screens.

I hope it isn't delayed until May.
As for online, they were debating with Nintendo about what they could and could not do, however, they didn't confirm what the result was of that argument. So I don't know if there are friend codes or not.
What I do know is, the first screenshot of this thread is amazing, and I really want to play this game. I hope it sells millions.

No, not really and I might actually get it. But you're right, I guess the real issue is my shortage of time and money. For that reason
I have to be very selective and PS3 is calling me just a bit harder. Also you can add trophy addiction to better graphics and online play.
A lot of good images. The graphics are pretty great for a first person shooter for the Wii. I hope this game gets in some great sales.
TO GOD BE THE GLORY
I hate game informer so much >_
They have a "learning curve" with controls... but the controls are "the standard Wii FPS controls" it's a contradiction in itself, if it's the standard then you should know them, if its difficult then you have a learning curve... simple. Then they talk about Wii Motion + helping with accuracy when WM+ has nothing to do with the IR... NOTHING... if you have difficulty aiming with IR in the first place it's a personal issue not one with the game cause I know plenty of people that are good at using the IR, and then there's even sites to help you adjust your bar to be pixel perfect if you want http://www.davidhawley.co.uk/WiiSensorBar.aspx So if you got control issues it's your own fault it's just like being mad that you're still using a rolling ball mouse with an FPS when others know it's smart to use a laser mouse...
On the side of me that doesn't spew GI hate, those screens are nice, though the scan is very poor, I saw the actual GI issue and it does look good in the magazine I hope it catches some peoples eyes and helps boost sales come May when it comes out.
