I used to be a sales person, and that was part of the reason why I loved doing it. It was to help people, and there has to be some sort of social reward feeling if you share good times with people.

Sure, there's no problem at all if you help people as a sales person. The people that really annoy me are those losers that spend their entire day at gamestop trying to get costumers to buy their favorite product in order to raise the sales of their favorite company.
Biased salesmen are really annoying either. I actually once when into a gamestop and asked for a car charger for my PSP, then the girl behind the counter went on and on about how no one buys PSPs, which is their reason for not "having" items for it. Then, a miunte later, after looking and finding it myself, the girl went on trying to prevent a person from buying a PS3 because "MGS4 was going to come out on the 360 at the same time and be better anyways, and the bluray attachment for the 360 was coming out very soon". Needless to say, I never saw her working at that gamestop again.
I think I have influenced friends to buy every curent gen console out there. Sometimes they want to play MGS4/GT, sometimes they want Halo/GeOW or sometimes they want their kids or girlfriend/wife to get into gaming with them. It all depends on what the person is looking for. I'll feel good about "sharing good times" when I know that I helped them get what they were looking for.
