I understand your position Kwaad, and I don't think it's completely unreasonable, but I also don't think it's totally sound.

The easiest example is Wii Sports: because the game comes iwth every system, many people are happy to get Wii Sports and then not buy anything for months. Obviously, if the system did not come with a game, that wouldn't be the case. 

In effect, completely discounting Wii Sports would totally bork the attach ratios if anyone were trying to calculate them (which I have), because people are buying less of all other games besides Wii Sports. Counting every single copy of Wii Sports probably isn't fair; but discounting all of them isn't fair, either. Honestly, the best solution would be to count some fraction, perhaps 50 percent, but there isn't a clear way to do that. Ioi's solution is to simply tally all the sales, then let any person ignore them completely if they so choose, or count about half of them, as I do, or whatever you want to do with them. I think that solution makes sense. 

I posted this another thread before talking about the pack-ins with the Xbox and was told that the amount of games sold was too hard to track, but if i could provide any numbers they would be considered and might be added to the list, but i'm lazy and never tried to look them up. This was also talked about for games that can be D/L off the PSN and XBL. If you can find official statements from Sony or Microsoft that said how many of each game has been Downloaded or the exact sales of the platinum PS games and 360 games i'm sure they would be added to the site.  Plus the fact that Sony said that Motorstorm has sold 1mil, it could be 70% = 700k or more to the consumer, which would be very good for a game that came out in March.

I thought I heard some were last year that Wii Sports will only be pack in for the first year or two (in the US)?
I wouldn't put it pass Nintendo to do a *price drop of $50 to bring the Wii down to $200 but without the game next year.
Also does anyone remember 3rd parties being angry at Nintendo for packing in (mario) games back in NES and SNES days? Saying it was unfair advantage or something like that.

Although I do agree with the fact that the forum is dominated by Wii fans, I'd also like to point out that the majority of us are reasonable, unlike the Sony fanboys before us... (Hus, Blue3, washimul/mridul/daxter/larry). The only sane Sony fans I know are Kwaad, kber, and ckmlb, plus some other guy with a WTF avatar (forgot his name).

I find the Wii Sports pack-in as being counted pretty unreasonable. Although there is a reason why the other pack-ins aren't counted because of different system configurations, it's pretty useless to count Wii Sports since you can just count the hardware sales.

In 2 years when Wii Sports is still selling 100,000/week, and the best selling game of ALL TIME. Do you really think that people would be buying it with 100% attach ratio? the 41.5% attach ratio japan has? a 25% attach ratio because it's been 2 years? Or something like a 5% attach ratio like it would actually be because Wii Sports3 would already be out.

I just dont understand how it can be counted in america on the sales chart. Dont count motorstorm, or any other pack-in game. I dont care. Either count them all, or dont. But I personally dont think they should be counted at all for the 'weekly' charts.

 See, this was said a while ago. And by "as far as we can track them" Thats the case with every game. Motorstorm will be tracked accordingly if it's bundled.

Same thing happened with all the copies of Talladaga Nights they gave away, as well as the 500,000 copies of Casino Royale that people got in EU for setting up a PSN account. I think it was 500k. I serious doubt it can be counted though, since there isn't anyway(that I know of) to seperate the sale of the different SKUs. Not sure.
