I hear a lot of negativity towards Grand Theft Auto IV on VGChartz. My question is: What do you have against the game in particular?

I really liked it. In fact, I enjoyed it much more than I enjoyed San Andreas. I can easily say that next to MGS4, it is my favorite game of this generation so far. The only issue I had with it was small glitches here and there and I thought that the cover and shooting system could have been much better...but neither of these were big enough issues to get in the way of enjoying the game.

Personally, I just didn't like it. I got to about 45% and then decided I didn't want to play it anymore. I don't know if it can get any more simple than that.

Seen it all before. Except for the terrible camera which doesn't know if it wants to follow the player or if it wants to be controlled. I don't really care which one it is as long as it isn't both. Oh, and shooting sucks. In general, they've forgotten gameplay. Gameplay > large area, even if I am a big fan of freedom. Usually large area doesn't guarantee that the game has freedom, too. Or whatever I should call it.

I didn't like the previous ones very much either but that's because of sucking gameplay, too.

because it really wasn't deserving of the scores it was awarded, though it definately isn't alone in this. gta 3 deserved high scores because it broke new ground in the genre and has since been a huge influence. gta 4 is basically gta 3 but a little bit better in most areas. despite the fact that it wasn't really anything new or anything especially great it still received very high scores, providing more glaring proof the review system is broken and largely meaningless.

I always hated GTA, so Rol answer is pretty accurate.

It's a fun game, but not a perfect game, which it was hailed as. The graphics and framerate are really pretty terrible compared to other next gen games too.
