why do people think wiis momentum will be lost?

@OP (Or, actually, the article itself); No they won't, I don't think there's a chance at all of them finishing 2nd this gen. They should rather focus on having done a tremendous job at groin kicking a console monolith and having seen big improvements since last gen imo.

First; the other pricedrops have had less than stellar effects, which seems to indicate that the demand for the product is what is holding back sales, not the price, as the 360 is by far the best deal this gen imo. Also; the other two will reach that same pricepoint and one can only assume by seeing the sales curves and trends now, the PS3 will handily outsell it at the same price point since it beats it regularly costing nearly twice as much in some areas.

A decade and a half ago I thought that too - then gen 5 came around.

Even if Nintendo stop selling the Wii now, is a generation win to them, because they are in better position than the last one.

Same happen with Microsoft.........

At the end, Sony could get a slight lead over 360, but will be the big looser. The Playstation control on the videogame market is over.


1- Nintendo will get the leader position and profit like no one.

2- Microsoft will gain market share (maybe 2 place) and now are on profit.

3- Sony will lose their place and not going to make profit on this generation.

I think its unfair to compare end numbers. The 360 is not a 10 year machine like the ps3. All that matters is that the 360 will beat the PS3 until the next xbox comes out.

I also believe they will end third, this guy is just doing his job.

2009 PS3 should overtake the 360, unless MS pull something huge next year
