You mean the 2 cuts in 3 years? Remember the 20gb was not a permanent cut as it was a clearance sale in order to bring out the 60gb model. Consumers should never be tired of price cuts.

Many considered the 60GB PS3 "liquidation" a price cut

Good thing my reply or the thread had nothing to do with the PS3. The intro of the new PS3 SKU could be called a "pricecut" as just a generalization (I and other ppl have called it that) even technically it was not. Stay on topic otherwise this is going to turn into another pissing contest between fanboys.

I probably won't ever buy a 360 (as I own already more games than I can play in my spare time) but why should anyone be tired of console price cuts? Strange question...

Cutting prices to increase a userbase to make more profits from software and accessories is a dumb buisness decision.

I'm tired of threads being created by people that have no idea what they are talking about, involving price cuts...

Back from the dead, I'm afraid.

I'm a little tired of the 360 price cuts yes...

But I'm more tired of Wii selling by the boat loads without a single good game in 5 months and the PS3 announcing new SKU's every 6 months.

So I will let the 360 slide here...

Well I am.

Microsoft keeps saying "Well Wii is probably lost, but we will sell more xbox 360 in this generation than Sony does at PS3"

Come on...Why are you trying so hard to win Sony that you keep cutting prices over and over again...

Thats just stupid.

 Yeah stupid...like your post.

I'm not tired at all. Soon an Arcade will be 150 euros and a Pro 200. That will be cheap:)

It's kinda funny since everybody always said, "MS will be happy in third with their improvement over the original Xbox, they just want to make a profit." I guess they do still care about competing in sales.

What is even funnier is that it cost MS $323 to manufacture a 20GB 360 in November of 2006 and you think that almost two years later they'd lose money selling a 60GB 360 for $299.

I wouldn't mind if Microsoft hands out 360s for free. Personally I would have little use for it though.

PS3 vs 360 sales

Why should we be tired just now? Sony did it last generation and that was what killed Sega and prevented the GC from selling a little more (it also killed a big chunk of Sony`s profits). MS did price cuts weeks after releasing the original xbox and it cost them several billions.

This gen MS was losing decent money without any price cuts, they held for as much as they could. Sony is in a position where they lost so much money that a big price cut could mean the end of the playstation brand. I can`t see any reason aside from bitter Sony fanboyism to reject Xbox 360 price cuts. In the worst case MS will consolidate PS3 position as a distant 3rd. In the best case MS will lose so much money that they will have to leave the game business (and maybe drag Sony along as a bonus).
