the ody1 isn't in the same gen as the 26, and channel f, it uses discrete logic and games are selected by jumpers, though it is a cool system ever see the odyssey rifle?
the odyssey 2 was in competition with the 26 and channel f, as were to a lesser extent the rca studio 2 (worst system of all time), the mpf-1000 (near non existent), and the coleco telstar... I forget what the model was called but it had interchangable rom carts
and sort of the bally astrocade/computer library/professional arcade/ whatever else they felt like calling it
and if we go international stuff like the cassette vision, interton vc4000 and the sg
plus the main competition to the atari was the mattel intellivision
so really the war was between the 2600 and the Intellivision, and to a lesser extent the od^2
personally I'd back the 2600, I like the intv but it's weaker library wonky controllers and it's screwball 10-bit slow as molasses in January process hold it back
and the od^2 has too many problems to list including the inability to display backgrounds
