Not necessarily. The best selling games of the last few years were announced atleast a year before they came out. And yes, WKC is way more hyped than RG ever was, especially in the West.

You are right - there are people who will try to spin that any game on the PS3 bombed. With MGS4, most admitted it did better than their expectations, but there were a vocal 2 or 3 that had to make some argument that it flopped.
Level 5 really has the spotlight with WKC due to the fact that it will be the first jRPG of that scale on the PS3. It should definitely get past the million mark worldwide.

How do you have a race when one of the games isn't even released? Although I must admit this thread did give me an idea for another interesting thread. Gran Turismo 5 vs Final Fantasy XIII: Race to a Release Date.

We really can't get a solid figure of what it truely would have sold. Anything that gets bundled messes up the numbers. I don't think it flopped, but I don't like things being bundled for the sake of its own credibility

I know they will say [insert game here] has bombed regardless but you don't have to give them ammo. Based on its quality Valkyria Chronicles should have sold much better in Japan. JRPG sales seem to be on the decline in Japan and thats with the established IPs. New IPs in Japan have been having an especially difficult time.

Well WKC was one of the main reasons I bought a ps3 I thought it would be one of the many jrpgs coming out for it....I feel kinda jipped now....but hey I am definately getting that game.
