Price drop this October to $350. After all the times Sony has lied about dropping the price, I don't know why they believe Sony this time around. They can afford to drop the price ATM, and still make a slight profit if their first party titles sell enough copies.

So a global $50 price drop this October for core consoles, and a LBP bundle selling for $399

I have a hard time believing it costs more than 400€ to produce the PS3....

you can find blue ray drive for 125€ (amazon.fr) and 160 external HDD for 55€, obviously there is a profit made there but still, that would be 180€.

Then you see the XBox arcade at 199€ selling at profit.... that's a total of 380€ commercial value (so you have to deduct the profits made on the 3 objects) for an equivalent hardware....

So either the Cell is the actuall money eater at Sony, or they are just BSing everybody to look like the PS3 is a great deal.... Or maybe they mean "at loss" when they sale only in the US...

Between Feb and July 2009. And probably by just 50...... MAYBE 100..... But they aren't doing too bad at all with their current pricing... NINTENDO is just doing amazingly and outshining anything else around them....

Am pretty sure the PS3 is making good profit in "Others", and decent to alteast minor profit in Japan and US....

Just seems like they should be by now, the Production cost was 400 in JANUARY.

I'm guessing that Sony will drop the price in *spins wheel* 152 days, by *rolls dice* $47 US.

Seriously; that's as good a predictor as any. Sony is so out of touch that it's not possible to say when they'll cut the price based on what the market thinks is desirable or reasonable.
