I got to think the Famitsu number is off. It doesn't make sense that the Wii would drop while Wii Fit sales remained nearly the same.

MC have Wii Fit higher than Famitsu too (31k Vs 26k). People pick and choose between MC and Famitsu depending on which one favours their' system that week, but when there's a major difference then it's most likely that both are off and it lies somewhere in the middle.

Anyway, excluding Wii the hardware numbers are extremely close this week.

Famitsu's Wii Fit number was about the same from the previous week from Famitsu. Yet the Wii Sales dropped like crazy. That doesn't seem consistent.

My guess is that they are doing a correction. I'm just trying to make logical sense of the results. I'm not pulling a fanboy, OMG Famitsu is wrong.

@Fishy: It didn't drop like crazy. It went from 29k to 24k acording to Famitsu and Japanese market is slowing down after Obon holiday. Last year Wii was also dropping at this time of year acording to both trackers.

Do they even do corrections with new weeks numbers? Wouldn't that mean the number are simply made up? Are there any specific information about Famitsu corrections methods?

Personally I'm assuming that Wii sold 30k and both trackers are equally wrong.

Afrika did better then expected and the ps3 hardware is going well. what happened to the Wii. people say all trends start in japan if you get my meaning *winks*

Wii 24000
PS3 11000
360 3100

Wii at over 62% market share of this gen is your meaning?

PS2 is almost caught up with PS3.  Another interesting trend...?

The Wii has started to see 56-60% market share in Others lately - it's weakest market. If it falls down to 60% in Japan, its strongest, that's not so impressive.

Since when has Japan been Nintendos strongest market?

I didn't say Nintendo's, the Wii's.

American MS: 43.3%

Others MS: 43.1%

Japan MS: 69%

Pretty heavily the best market.

It's more like 360/PS3's weakest market. Wii doesn't sell like gangbusters in Japan the way it does in America/Others.

Decent start from Afrika! Though it has been in development for ages, so cant have been particularly cheap to make
