Well for those who always bitch and moan over VGC overtracking/undertracking, this is for you. If MC and Famitsu can have such large tracking differences, it seems reasonable that VGC can differ with NPD or GFK or whatever and not be constantly be attacked about those differences.

@Jo21: Last year PS3 was selling more than this year. Also MC and Famitsu are differing A LOT, it's anyone's guess which one is correct, if any.

I got to think the Famitsu number is off. It doesn't make sense that the Wii would drop while Wii Fit sales remained nearly the same.

Hmm... Good to see the DS going ahead of the PSP again. But what's the cause such a shift? I thought the mind's set on the PSP on the long term. What fickle Japanese consumers.
At this rate, we'll eventually be having 1 DS per 5 people in Japan soon enough.

MC have Wii Fit higher than Famitsu too (31k Vs 26k). People pick and choose between MC and Famitsu depending on which one favours their' system that week, but when there's a major difference then it's most likely that both are off and it lies somewhere in the middle.
Anyway, excluding Wii the hardware numbers are extremely close this week.
