Forums - Nintendo - If Nintendo allows Coduit to have LAN play, Wii will be THE core console.

School and church groups across the country used to play Halo on Xbox1.  That is the only time I played Halo 2, was at parties.

Due to the popularity of the Wii, combined with the family image, will make this one of the best remembered shooters; ultimately the Wii the Shooter console among (non-forum, non-snob) gamers.

Anectdotal, I know.

Fanboyish, probably.

Correct, likely.

Rol, everytime I make a thread. Did you point it out on purpose?

BTW, I wanted to add:

This pretty much guarantees, Nintendo won't allow it.

They hate us.

ok, I'll say right on to that!

It's been known to have LAN play for a while--it's split-screen that's lacking.

Which part.

The part about Wii becoming the core console or the part about that being the reason why Nintendo won't allow it?

Unlikely. There may be a title that can have the same effect, but I don't think it will be The Conduit. The slew of FPS games coming to the Wii will help push it in that direction. Without split screen multiplayer I think the game will not manage to elevate itself to Halo status.

Actually, the LAN is working, HV needs to get Nintendo's approval to put it in.

The Wii is already the core system. Also the last LAN Party I was at their were four 360's and Halo3 I doubt The Conduit will pop up and cause people who already own 360's to pair up Wii's instead. That being said LAN abilities might lead to it being playable at LAN parties.

So no I don't think it will replace 360 as the LAN console. But the Wii is already by far the core console sales indicate its dominance. I doubt a single games LAN abilities will effect the sales too much!

I don't see why they would have any problem with it--it still means you have to be in the same room (or area) as the other people playing.

But I don't believe this will be the 'one game' that completely makes it 'the' core console.  Things like Call of Duty and Quantum of Solace (with exclusive split-screen) are what will allow it to make strides in that direction.
